  • obviously its on new market street where all the 14 to 16 year olds from uvhs hang around tryin to get someone to go to bargain booze for them
  • Everyone goes to ford park or the gill to hook-up. ford park is a good place to chill as you can sometimes hear music nearby at the studio.

  • Me n my m8s go to ford park in ulverston and sometimes watch bands in ford house like this band called the Shindig, they're class. Streams Of Whiskey are also good, I love watching them.
  • up Ford Park, there's picnic tables where I often hang out with mates... nice and secluded. Also, the Coach House studio is just literally a stones throw away so you can go in and see a band practise, like this awesome (better than Murray & The Skankers and the Streams of Whiskey) band called The Shindig.
  • In the summer you can find stoners on lightburn park at the bottom of UVHS and at ford park. These people are friendly!!
  • ford park benches!!!
  • croftlands by the shops its the best to mess around and you can see all ya mates and uvhs its top
  • croftlands by the shops
  • victoria rd rose gardens attracting all the towns chavs at the moment.
  • The Gill is probably the most common hook-up spot along with the Job centre which is just next-door to Roxy Cinema.
  • damn hippies always talkin out there arse hippy. Yeah pops wots the cracklin damn flag festivil screw that i want a slice of toast
  • 24 hr garage, you can take the missus and buy her a microwave roast dinner
  • Lightburn park... a lot of kids hang out there. tho it's full of BMXers and "skaters"...
  • The area around Swan street and Sunderland Terrace, due to the majority of it being residence to UVHS students. Watch out for Poplar Grove too, dark alley....
  • Don't even think of gathering at the town centre roundabout carpark. THe residents call the police straight away and the nick is just across the road. The best place for teenage drivers is Bardsea beach (Coast road towards Barrow, about 4 miles out of town) or Greenodd Picnic site (A590) about the same distance back towards the lakes. The police are red hot on boy racers and hand out tickets like they are going out of fashion.
  • Young teenage Car drivers gather at 'the roundabout' car park (boy racers and loud ICE). Other 'hot spots' are Boots alleyway and 'the Coronation Hall'-

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Ulverston. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Ulverston.

If you are unhappy with any of the content on this page, turn on the flags.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
