Record Shops

  • The people desinging this website seem to have confused Pencoed with somewhere worth going!??!?! record shops? dunno, maybe ask Hurrish?
  • Most of the younger generation like absurd groups that no one has ever heard of. Whatever happened to the likes of the Spice Girls and Boyzone, I'll never know.
  • Jungle is pretty good. It's in Bridgend.
  • GET ONE!
  • None. This place is rather crap.
  • Used to be a great one about 5 years ago, but closed down due to lack of interest. While it was going, it was mainly kept afloat by Ian Pickens, Anthony Lee and Nathan Woolls

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars

  • buffs club - total shit - stereophonics were booked to play it before they got good (obviously) pulled out before they had to play. welfare hall - full of pikey little monsters all referring to each other as "bra"
  • Kineticism In the back room of the Chatterton Arms, first saturday of every month. www.kineticism.co.uk house/breaks/techno/trance/d'n'b
  • The Pencoed Legion is absolutly buzzing on a Saturday night. The men in there are hot!! And it's cheap.
  • clubs in Pencoed...I don't think so...
  • Once again, I think not, your best bet is Bridgend but then again that ain't that brilliant! Try Cardiff if your looking for a good night out!
  • NEED ONE!
  • There arent any. Go to Swansea - wicked night out.
  • A dance club, in the middle of the railway line.
  • New exciting local DJ - Marky Mark H from Maesteg - exclusively live in the Old King's Head, Pencoed - coming soon!

Live Music Venues

  • chats - used to be class when owned by gareth, now run by one of the extras from lord of the rings"! just go down there any friday or saturday for "entertainment" dont go with anyone you want to speak to (you wont be able to hear them) a healthy 65% chav rating ensures you feel welcome. brit - a worse version of the chats with a burberry busting 85% chav rating - check it! the kings head - useless, generally avoid it unless you're out of super tennants and you're barred from the chats/ brit. 88% chav rating (with 10% bonus for crazy bad boy cars outside) - now available in bright lemon - classy! pencoed rugby club - anyone who knows anyone who has represented pencoed at rugby and no longer does, no longer goes here either. - same as everyone else.
  • The Welfare Hall is the new home of rock in Wales. Respect to the Town Council.
  • The legion puts on gigs every few years. Kings head too, and there used to be some in the welfare hall, until the event of the fire extinguisher...
  • Dog food are great. Go watch them in the Pencoed Welfare Hall. the hottest venue in Town.
  • I hear they host gigs at the Welfare Hall now! Could be interesting!
  • NEED SOME!
  • You can here all sorts of music just down Hendre Road about 500yds from the railway crossing.
  • Welfare hall is the music scene for wales.
  • Old Kings Head for fairly decent bands, Chatterton Arms and Brittania Inn for shite covers bands

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Pencoed. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Pencoed.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
