Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
Alderney hosts the best rave events in the Channel Islands. Throughout the year a German WW2 Bunker has been created into a unique night club. The event, which usually happens every Friday and Saturday night, consists of a exellent range of music and an amazing atmosphere which will keep you dancing until 8am the following morning. On top of this bunker boasts an exclusive way of chilling out from the wicked music down stairs. A huge fire is lit and people chill by chatting and listening to live acoustic music performed by people who know how to create the right atmosphere for the right occasion. Not only that, but while you relax by the fire and listen to music just take a look at the astounding panaramic views of France, Guernsey and Jersey. This truely is one of the highlights of the island and dispite the music and late nights/early mornings attracts all ages and all sorts. And do you know the best thing....... ITS FREE!!

August also hosts the largest outdoor raves in the Channel Islands. For more details of these events contact Alderney Tourism.
none, but in the summer there are some excellent bunker parties, held as you might expect in a german bunker, and quarry parties, you guessed it, held in a disused quarry.
There arent any ''clubs'' as such but do not be disallusioned. We have the
best legal ''raves'' in Great Britain. During the summer huge underground
bunkers built by the Germans are transformed into brilliant music clubs.
They open when the pubs kick out at 1.30 and go on till the last person
leaves, usually after sun-rise. They are free to get in and you bring
your own alchohol, so it's cheap. They are not licensed but they are
never raided, the police love them because they get all the drinkers
out of the centre of town.
Live Music Venues
the quarry, the bunker
Live bands perform a few times a week in different venues throughout
the year. The music festival which is in July or August is a 3 day open
air festival in a disused quarry with live bands and hot DJ's from all
over the world......Dont miss it..
Cinemas
Incredibly small (and rather damp) cinema. The great thing is that there is only one projector, so while the projectionist changes reels, everyone goes across the road to the pub. The bar staff ring a bell when it's time to go back to the cinema for the second half!
very small and damp, run by volunteers
We've got a cinema, but the chances are by the time we get that ''new''
movie, its out on video......However, not to put them down, they do come
up with the odd blockbuster when its being shown in the U.K. The best
thing about our cinema is that you can order you drinks in the pub across
the road before it starts and then its ready during the interval. When
the movie starts again they ring the bell in the pub so that you dont
miss any of it....its still a real social event in Alderney
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
