Hook-up Spots (That hallowed spot where everyone hangs around with their mates dreaming of the time when they can get into the pubs or clubs - a bench, a corner: you name it.)

• Thornbury is a beautiful,little, cultured village.It is a great place to get away from city stress, and totally relax.I love to visit there it brings back many happy memories.
• Skate park by leisure centre is open now, not bad either.
• I guess the new skate park could be classed as a hook up spot, me and my mates used to hang around the subways (not drinking alcohol, obviously), the town centre pretty much sucks tho, and the new security guard isnt much fun!!
• Contrary to information provided by Knowhere, there is a SKATE AND BMX PARK!!!It opened (officially) in August or September 2001 (can't remember when exactly). It has been a long and drawn out process, which I have had nothing to do with, but my other half is very keen. It's apparently very good considering the size of Thornbury, and is to be found at the back of the Leisure Centre (through the gate at the back of the first carpark). Enjoy, but don't bother at weekends or in the school holidays. The stench of adolescence is almost palpable. There are girls and boys, but the boys are too interested in polishing their sprockets and grinding the fun box to notice the girls!
• There is now a skatepark in Thornbury, cunningly titled "Thornbury Skate Park"...I know, I was amazed too. It's the best place to go (legally) and it's near the Leisure Centre.
• THE ALL NEW SKATEBOARD PARK! Behind the leisure centre in Thornbury.
• The Swan in the high st... what a place... that's where I learnt all I needed to about life... go there and keep it real !
• Well I've always found that the best place to hang around and look cool is in the the playing fields, swinging and going round and round on the round about waiting for any talent to turn up and start chating you up. The last time I did this was in 1976 when I was 15, my mate Suzanne was with me all the time in those days, I've since moved away and now live in the East of England

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
