• MY FAV BUILDING IS FARNWORTH LIBRARY-I RESEARCH MY FAMILY HISTORY AND THE STAFF ARE BRILL! THEY HELP YOU WITH EVERYTHING-AS AN EX OF FARNWORTH IT WAS A GREAT PLACE TO GROW UP IN MANY YEARS AGO-SADLY ITS GONE DOWN HILL-TOO MANY PEOPLE WANTING MONEY FOR NOTHING-SEND THEM BACK TO BOLTON !
• Grammer School and the old CO-OP
• Devils work, all of them
• Market Street Tavern, excellent architecture, until the wind blew off the ornamental display!!

• Asda, all the pubs mentioned, in fact Farnworth

• the snooker club cos it looks a mess and have destroyed anyway

• ASDA!!! Since that supermarket first opened in the 70's it has slowly but surely taken over farnworth, and killing all the local trade. It was an eyesore at first and now it is a bigger one!
• Town Hall, ugly. Asda, concrete monstrosity, traffic jams endless Mills in Farnworth, blot on landscape.

The Best Things

• The Road out
• Going to the old baths for 3d and then gettin a pasty for 6d from the shop on the old art noveau bus terminus with green and cream marble tile
• everything is not always perfect but what is . farnworth is the best thing
• asda, the phoenix club, my street, fences for me to walk across,
• the girls are easy
• Everything! It's not as bad as people make out.

• in life are free

• its only 2 miles from Bolton
• Farnworth Pool used to create hours of giggles when certain people used to steal letters from its name result in 'farnworth poo' or even 'far worth poo'.
• Great girls, plenty of them and places to take them. A great night out. Pubs, above average selection. Good beer to be had in this town. Eating places, loads of them.

The Worst Things

• Got a spare week ?
• You cant get one of the fantastic meat pies from the old co-op with its brilliant arcitecture. The Market Tavern round the corner had the same style, is it still there ?
• the job centre
• the cemetry that you didnt know was there (waste land opposite snooker club)
• lots
• Little Hulton
• in life are also free
• The road in
• Its still only 2 miles fronm Bolton unfortunately
• No public loos except ASDA or ZACS MArket Street
• Because of ASDA the GOTHIC redbricked and giant CO-OP was demolished, and once where it stood is a crappy 1980's QS and ALDI. RIP CO-OP.
• No toilets, apart from the hi-tech space age capsules near the bus stations. No decent record shops. Not enough clubs. No Burger King or MacDonalds Bolton tends to overshadow Farnworth

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
