Chinnor, Oxfordshire Hookup Spots and Stuff Only Locals Know

Hook-up Spots (That hallowed spot where everyone hangs around with their mates dreaming of the time when they can get into the pubs or clubs - a bench, a corner: you name it.)

• The park ,on the bench by the tennis courts
• by the old cement trains
• White's Field seems to be a hangout spot from young to older youth. A Friday night kick about is alway's on the cards after one to many bevvies. And they all know who I am talking about
• The corner by the "pond" opposite the Red Lion and by the phone box always used to be the spot for us... that's mid 1980s, of course. Also the edge of the kids playground, by the tennis courts, the steps of the cricket pavilion and the dugout/gates by the rifle club, all on the playing fields. Keens Lane and Donkey Lane, where the railway and the Icknield Way cut across, are good spots, too, with a great view of the village. It must look different now the cement works are closed though. Also the bomb crater in the top (sledging) field off Donkey Lane, great for bonfires.
• I believe the bus stop outside the village hall is another hallowed spot for those awaiting acceptance into the "Can now get served in the pub" club.
• 'The Wall' by the roundabout opposite the Crown Pub which enivitably is the Holy Grail for the Village's social climbers.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
