Record Shops
erm notts and derby yet again
go to nottingham Lng Eaton does not want music it cannot buy from woolworths or asda
Town hall. (Well they have everyones address, council tax and voting records anyhow.) But no seriously, theres no specialist, vinyl type, not that im aware of, so its the supermarkets and er......Woollies
the fantastic selection of charity shops kept me stocked up in vinyl for years , not to mention the market on tuesdays
there are zero dedicated record shops in long eaton that i know of if there is let me no pleeeeaaasssseeee
No one sells specialised records anymore. Oasis closed down a thousand years ago when Toni worked there and that little bald bloke ran away with his posters and rare cds and sold out to a disco wig shop. So most of us buy from the internet now. All LONG EATON PEOPLE UNDER 40 LOVE THE INTERNET!!!!
Orbit records could always get you anything you wanted
orbit records..yup that's the only one.
Oasis before it got convirted into a Christian drop out centre and flower arranging empire
shut due to the shop being lifted
Orbit, he's OK quite obliging actually
used to be one called oasis, but its now a lovely christian center
best bet is the second hand shops
Orbit Records, run by some old git with a balding head that has never heard of any alternative bands. Overpriced you'd be better off asking woolworths to order it. Or actually get off your fat ass and go to Nottingham.
Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
Forget it.
i live in long eaton and ive not really heard of any punk, rock,or indie music. is is mainly dance music and they do have a good funky night once a month at the venue, brill night.
rock city or rock house for decent music. the gate house or the venue (and its actually here in bong eaton) for drug music sorry dance. every where else in long eaton pretty much plays the same music it did 15 years ago when i started going out on the piss
Credos is definitely the place to be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Relaxing chilled out bars downstairs with a much more lively dance floor and bar upstairs.
the venue is supposed to have a good soul night and all nights out in town come with a free fight
Not sure what it,s called it's on Station Rd, Havn't been but heard good reports!!
Minskys is now called Elements. A brilliant night out. Only for over 20's on a Saturday so no more teeny boppers! - free to get in b4 10.30 and your first drink free. Play the best of 70's, 80's and 90's music and certain beers and spirits at 70's prices - i.e. becks or fosters - 80p pint!!! can't be bad! brill night out, not too crowded now and no sticky carpet!
Not sure about this one, I like the Factory, its on old lace factory I think and its so clean! But too be honest I thinks the rest off them are much the same. The Railways a bit different these days, more hairy and larger chaps seem to be around in there these days.
as an eployee of Minsky's Manhattan Bar and Disco for one hellish summer in the mid-90s i can safely say this is the vilest nitespot on the globe. Glassed wrists, sticky carpets, piss soaked bogs, slappers and in-breds doing the same round of L.E. that they've been doing for the last 200 yrs. Was it worht the pinched arse and pissed up old trouts trying to put their tongues down me throat for£15 a night?
minskys has just been taken over by an independant company. contrary to the previous script the club was refitted last year (2002) and since then has had strict age policy incorporating strict age controls. new management . new doorstaff and new policies. don't knock it till you try it!!
"the roost" nerrr it's bloody rubbish
the venue is a good night out highly recommended
minskys - you obviously haven't been there in a while! refurbished last year the chewing gum has gone, painted, cleaned up and now the safest club in long eaton. you should get out more! as for under age - you will need i.d! they even have toilet attendants!
There are many for such a small town, but none are really decent. They have done Credos up for Valentines day so maybe that will be the new thing. It was always my favourite anyway. Apart from that the Litten Tree (aka Litter tray)
aint half bad. Or go round your mates and put some tunes on.
minskys is cool couse there is no more sticky carpets it all been done up all the other clubs are crap so come to minsys
THE VENUE, wicked proper nightclub, if your after a decent experience and your anyone youll be in here 18+ 21+ nights...one of the most smartest and sexy nightclubs around, minskys???? cred???? dont even come close to a nightclub.
Mingers (Minskys) is for swingers and they have a under 18's night
minskys!!! ha ha never been...credo's only go if you are totaly wasted..chalkies...don't even bother..i haven't and i'm doing alright!!!
the new inn has a cracking nightlife after 11pm. bring your own dominoes
Credo and Minskys-- Credo is the better, Minsky the sticky carpet club
Credo and Minskys.........In the words of the commander of the Kursk...........
DIVE DIVE DIVE
2 awful clubs where the floor gets stickier as the drinkers get fresher faced
Minskys - your local piece of dirt. Average age of 'clubbers'...15. Drinks nice and cheap though.
Live Music Venues
Don't bother.
go to nottingham, go on now don't stop to look around just run while you can!
The Litten Tree occasionally, proborly the best place for bands is Rock City in Nottingham. BRILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I have to say that the Factory have venues, and they are cheap enough to see, and most other pubs are too small too hold a decent one, but you ahve to keep an eye on the local rag.
the sportsman on derby road has a regular local band nite anything bigger ya need to go 2 nottingham 2 rock city or the ice arena
RELIGION @ the venue(sats), prophercy @ the venue, subway @ the venue (fri), FROOT weekends@ the venue
The Turks Head (Gibb Street) has recently been taken over by new management, and will be regularly putting on local live bands. Worth checking out...
the sportsman. regular venue for Doctor and The medics. they of "spirit in the sky" fame
