Hook-up Spots (That hallowed spot where everyone hangs around with their mates dreaming of the time when they can get into the pubs or clubs - a bench, a corner: you name it.)

  • the half miley the railway track, that run up marsh lane under the gas works
  • The rallah, old sort of abondoned except for about 12 deisel freight train a day. Cool place, death slides, cat walk, rock faces , ponds, tunnels.

  • The entrance to South park, opposite sydney Rd. in Hawthorn rd. where as youngsters we would gather before heading of to the match of the day,or I,d meet Ronny Mac. to go to a session at 2111 Squad. Air Training back in 1942!
  • derby park, oh the dayz of drinkin cider
  • Did you know that Bootle has an Air Training Corps Squadron and has done since 1942, we are here for the youth of Bootle who are interested in a career in the armed forces, mainly RAF, we always here people saying there is nothing for the youth of Bootle and surrounding areas to do, there is, twice a week Monday and Thursday 7.00pm - 9.15pm, we are based in Carr Meadow Hey, Ford, Litherland and offer countless opportunities for teenagers 13 to 18 to try out new activities such as flying, gliding, shooting, camping, adventure training, abseiling, wall climbing, canoeing, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, we also have a corps of drums band. So if you are or have got a teenager complaining of nothing to do come down and see us.
  • Where I used to go when I wanted to get pissed was litherland park. We used to have some good firday nights there.
  • The maternity car park on Trinity road. Its got a tiny rope swing on a tree that hurts your hands and a door often used by scallys to sign up on. Then theres the scally trackie warrior deal of lads playin footy in the unused part. Then some people happen to kick in doors round the back and once some1 stole a birdhouse
  • The benches in the Strand (the best shopping centre around)! It had to be the benches by the clock. The North park on a nice day otherwise it was freezing. But sometimes the skallies would harrass you.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Bootle. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Bootle.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
