• King Bee Records (opposite the Polar bar)- great for finding random stuff and all the old classics.

• erm, beehive records (never bin in it, just go past it everyday) the oxfam book n record store, erm, there's loads in town on oldham road, ya betta off goin there
• Kingbee records on wilbraham road is an amazing hole in the wall full of real music lovers
• King Bee Records best music shop ever. Got cheap prices and everything from vinyl to Cd been in chorlton for years a true music store.

• Kingbee records is a second hand shop worth a decent rummage. Some good classic vinyl. Bus Stop records has gone the way of all flesh and is now a milk bar.

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars

• iguana bar , theres loads of bars down tht rroad actually, just take a stroll
• Chorlton Irish is remarkably cheap, has a very cavalier attitude to the business of closing (it's a private club, but they're friendly to visitors), and really rather good fun. Great for a Sunday night after the Horse and Jockstrap's kicked out.
• Bring back Shades!!

Live Music Venues

• uluru on barlow moor road have a live music night on mondays. always fun. different types of music on different weeks from reggae to indy
• Live music at The Iguana bar (who can forget Buddy the one man band!) Manchester Acadamy in town is pretty good, as is The Beer Keller.
• blu box theatre
• Iguana, opposite the baths
• Folkies at The Iguana (opposite Chorlton Baths) on, think it's Tuesdays
• Chorlton Irish does a bit of folk and country. Those nice lads from Alfie played there. The Southern, out on Mauldeth Road, has a big room that they hire out. The Doves played there once. I think that's about it.
• The Irish Club - best craic going!
• Blue Note is sadly no longer with us.
• Bluenote cafe (jazz)

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
