Food
THE GREYHOUND IN THE TOWNPARK IS REALLY GOOD FOR FOOD!! THE WAITRESSES ARE VERY PLEASENT AND GOOD AT THEIR JOBS! THE FOOD IS ALSO REALLY NICE AND ID RECOMMEND IT ANY TIME!!
The greasy spoon in the Stow, offers a wide range of affordable cuisine and the best jacket spuds for miles.
yeah ummm, if you down like burgers and pizza its best to go to nearby Epping for some munchies!!!
the town with very little arcitecture to be proud of boasts four macdonalds
Not enough some may say, they can argue that there are still some skinny kids
slipping through the net.
McDonalds, McDonalds Drive-Thru, 2 Pizza Huts, Burger King Drive thru, some Pasta shit hole,
The Old Harlow Kebab House .... it is well priced, well placed and well appointed. However they can be stingy with the chilli sauce mind - be sure to get a lot in!
The Paq Lok Chinese at Bush Fair, Two Indians and a Chinese in Old Harlow and the Pink Cottage near Staple Tye
Mc Donalds Chicagos is very nice.
Pubs
Oh dear.
Greyhound in the summer is the best, Willow is ok, The Hare is a bit miserable since there top barmaid left a couple of years ago ( thats me!!!!) Yates is full of wannabe yuppies at night and dirty old men during the day.
the Willow changed its name to the"pavillion"because after about thirty years they
realised that there was a cricket ground nearby. The punters(mildly confused)ignored the name change
and continued to call it the Willow, making the ever accomidating landlords change it back to it's original name
"the pavillion"(sorry the Willow!).
to see the good looking men in harlow go to the pavillion (trust me there are some fittys in harlow !!)
The Willow is Wicked!
About 10 of em dotted all over town.
The Jean Harlow is a very pleasant place for Sunday lunch. Fine beer garden.
Plume of Feathers is a Fantastic Pub, also Have Travellers Friend if you head out towards Epping Green
The pubs in the Old Town are good and not as rough as the ones in the town centre
The orange footman is no more I'am afraid it was demolished like the rest of Staple Tye and now out of the phonix comes the new Staple Tye, like the old one but only one level, nice Chinese taka away though.
The Cock was always a mellow place to be for an evening conversation and a lot of beer. Musics never too loud and Xmas is always a laugh there.
Rainbow & Dove, just outside Harlow. Great old-fashioned English pub.
The 'Willow' is usually rammed, although there's more 'doomers' in there these days, since the Chicago Rock Cafe opened. The Greyhound in the Town Park is good for summer Friday nights. 'Chicago's' gets very busy (novelty value), there's a dress code and slow bar service
Great atmosphere - The Greyhound and The Hare. Kinda tacky - Archers Dart.
Plume of Feathers: The only decent place to get a quiet drink. Lee and Tina, "The best Landlord and Lady in the Land".
Cafes and Coffee Shops
Morrellis, smack bag in the middle of the Harvey centre, bit mank really. Some other dingy looking place in little walk, that tries to be a restaurant and good old fave, upstairs in BHS where all the college students gather and buy one pot of coffee and make it last all day whilst they chain smoke in the sanctity of a parent free zone!!! Yes i have spent lots of time here!!!!
if you want to go moron spotting around town,I find that the best time is mid-morning(whilst everyone is at work)
and the best venue is either Andersons of staple tye or the european style eatery, which is situated in little walk.
A word of caution to non-smokers,little walk is in an enclosed area but it doesn't deterr the fattest, unhealthiest patron
from lighting up while eating.
Loads and Loads.
The Playhouse Cafe Bar, The Market Cafe and Traders are all good places to get a cup of Coffee and also Food at the Two Cafes
