Skateboarding Spots

  • Any real skateboarder will know about the town park. Theres plenty of paddling pools scatteres around town too which make ideal ramps.
  • Sk8 ramps in the town park...duh
  • the playhouse is a great spot, ledge that gets bigger and a 3 set. double set by esporta health club and theres a sloped ledge. theres a new sportcentre being made soon and hopefully that will contain some new spots. bishopsfield is a f****** great place to skate, its by staple tye and bush fair, theres ledges, 9 sets, grass gaps, stairs etc. rad job center has a 7 and a 4 but get kicked out. theres a roof gap by the bus stop, (i've done it) the gaps about a board length and a half and the drop is about 2 storeys. post office, 5 set, 4 set, ledges, and wood for ramps.
  • New street course at Spurriers next to pets corner, where the old hippid mini was. super rad assortment of trannied and banked, 30 ft driveway thing with square bars blocks pier 7 style. built by uniform designed by Hem and Monk
  • harlow is shit for skateboard and bmxers but we shouls get some new stuff soon we hope thier is a dirt trail if u could call it that. more like ant hill that never stay the same
  • the steps going down to asda
  • We used to have a good half pipe in the Town Park and a little skate park at Brays Grove but Harlow council fenced them off or ripped them up. we're supposed to be getting a new skate park but don't hold your breath!
  • watergardens has just been done and is beggin to be shredded
  • harlow town park up the hill from the ramps in the paddling pool is a good place fopr beginners, with hills, small hips, sloped entry, etc.
  • best spot to skate and chill is the ramps which has got the best skateboarding ramp ever loads of lines to take. street coures with box and anice flat bank hip a huge 12 and beutiful 9 and some flat with a slidey stair, and ur basic long curb and ledge down a melow bank. town has everything roof gaps little stairs big stairs. Most of the schools r the same
  • sumners swimming pool/park near the sports center when empty has a few jumps and benches says no bikes or skateboards but who gives a turkey over the road is a good rail for grinding
  • Town Park ramps, which are OK...a big pipe and a couple of little boxes. The Town Centre has good illegal spots, Halifax is no longer good due to fences, cobbles and security. Market Square at night, Terminus House carpark for BMX. The Water gardens were good (walls, steps, shoppers) but have been demolished for a new shopping centre, which might provide new places.
  • the old sk8ing rink has just had a new halfpipe put in which aint bad but im not a sk8er so i dunt really know, but its constantly filled wiv skaterz
  • Everywhere and nowhere. No ramps, nothign of any repute, so the kids skate at the town hall concorse or wherever they feel like it.
  • Just to add. The skateboard shop in harlow is now in the harvey centre, 2nd floor, oposite tesco's near burger king. Not in post office walk any longer. and dont mix it up with the shop punkass in the littlewalk centre, this is not a skateboard shop.
  • harlow has a new ramp in the town park much to the rich part of the communities dismay! theres a bit of "not in my backyard" going on.
  • PEAR TREE MEAD SCHOOL
  • Town park, Watergardens, The Square, etc
  • Town Park is good but it's dodgy in the winter.
  • New ramps in the town park, Bowled corner, Hipped corner, with a roll in, mini Ramp. Also flat bank, a concrete grind box, ledges and rails.
  • Try the town park, lots of high walls where i once saw a kid fall and land right on his face.
  • A little shop shoved down an aley in the scummy part of Harlow town, behind the market; it's really cheap and funky...a bit small though.
  • Not the Old Halifax building (Joseph Rank House) as the it is like a prison there now (guard dog soon)
  • Nichollsfield Skate Park. A little park with 4 quater pipes (Little things), a flat bank, diddy fun box, two grind boxes. Mark Hall School, Loadsa handrails (plastic and Metal and Wood, What a choice), Benches, Stair Cases. Burnt Mill School, more of the same. Old Halifax Building, Mad rails. A little concrete rollerblade course (Abandoned long ago), at church Langley. Watergardens, Loadsa stairs and ledges and tons of water. Rails dotted all over town.
  • Harlow Council have recently built some ramps i think theres a half pipe and a couple of verts. They a near the playing field next to the blue clocktower just after potter street
  • Water Garden steps, By the old Halifax building The market at night
  • Halifax building: two steps and many rad things. Water gardens: steps. Paddling pool: transitions, smoothish concrete. Rollerink: handrails, benches, steps, flat, food and drink.

Skateboard Shops

  • CAMDEN! go to camden lol.... or motel 6 in Wych Elm seems pretty good...but just go to camden anyways!!!
  • Motel 6 Skateshop www.motel6skateshop.com the best skateshop for all your skating needs DIBZ RULES. Hello Abe!
  • Motel6 is the biggest skateshop to grace Harlow and is above the motorbike shop in Wych Elm near the hospital. Owned and run by skater Hem the old manager of Bigworms. Nuff said.
  • thier r no shops for us hear if u want to go to some where u will have to go to whaltham abby to cycolone yea thats a good shop so go thire
  • Scrapped Knees Inc.
  • Both skate/alternative shops (Bigworms & punkass) have now closed down. Punkass due to crooked management (the manager kept stealing stuff, and the owner got pissed off) and bigworms folded due to the extortionate rent of the harvey centre.
  • london town
  • Big Worms, upstairs in the Harvey Centre
  • big worms 2nd storey of the harvey centrebest eva!
  • bigworms skateshop is a real skateshop. got everthink and there nice ppl
  • same as clothes shops
  • Big Worms...run by skaters for skaters. Punks UK run by top bloke called Elliot. One other which isn't very good. Harlow's skaters are nearly all crap, leading them to break a lot of boards, so BW and Punks UK always well stocked with stuff. No decent bike shops for either BMX nor MTB though, but Halfords have started to sell some good stuff these days.
  • Big Worms in the harvey center and theres another one down little walk whick is good
  • Can't say I saw any, yet they must be getting them from somewhere (normally sports shops).
  • big worms skateboards are still in town but they moved to the harvey centre.
  • the big willy one in post office walk has moved to little walk (i think)
  • Big Worms and Punk Ass
  • Punk Ass and Big Worms
  • Big Worms has now moved to the Harvey Centre which is easily accesable from the car park. Those guys do kick arse.
  • I think there are a couple of them
  • there used to be one down a dark creepy alley near the post office in the town centre, don't know if its still there?
  • skateboard shed is more descriptive,I would'nt like to be the person trying to find it for the first time either.
  • Big Worms Skates, a heaven. A little shack down Post office walk right out of the way of the rest of the town center.
  • 'Big Worms' in Post Office Walk, I think it's still open.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Harlow. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Harlow.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
