Cringing Cult of Celebrity (Famous residents and ex-residents.)

• the man utd first teamer who died at munich;from wombwell;was mark jones. his missus used to live up summer lane near merryweathers shop. other wombwell celebrities are: "locky";local hardnosed entrepeneur and bon vivant. "graham storey";who he doesnt know isnt worth knowing,and anyone who doesnt know him,doesnt know owt! "party day";the best band from wombwell who never were.which is probably for the best as far as most of them are concerned. "martin steele";either the one from hough lane or the one from pearson crescent.both are tragic cases of god taking exception to a particular name. "brian jacks";the ex superstars champion.not from wombwell,but he did visit the high school once you know.(i passed by him as i came out of e block;the smug twat) i will be back when i can think of any more.(or ill just make some old bollocks up and put on here).
• i do belive that rumour has it,personally i wouldnt belive it myself,but someone told me that ian sterling (ultra minor westcountry tv presenter)uesd the public toilets here once
• A man in his mid twenties won the national lottery (2 million) in 2001, he now is always suntaned due to the number of holidays per month he has. The guy will never work again.
• Butch dingles, most of the locals base their looks on Butch dingle, shaven head, pasty white skin, basicaly ugly looking. Also quite often you see Miss piggy.
• Nobody famous, but a few shit footballers, who were going to be world beaters and play for England, but never made it, because they were overated bastards and not good enough, these now play for non-league sides, or work in factories. Working class wankers.
• Plenty of working class big shots, who apart from have holidays and work achieve fucking nothing, Wombwell is a place for pointless people. Nothing more.
• Roy Kilner, played Cricket for Englans. Buried in the cemetry. Finetime Fontaine, appearred in Coronation Street. One of the Man Utd first team who died at Munich in 1958 (name??) One of the blokes from Marillion was born in Brampton (we've all got a cross to bare).
• Who can forget Fudgey, that mumbling guy in the Prince of Wales that you try to avoid!!

Buskers, Street Entertainers

• Jade from big brother resembles a large majority of the local female population, then again this is an insult to Jade, sorry Jade.
• When I return to Wombwell I get all the street entertainment I ever need just laughing at the state of the normal Wombwell populace. I love it, it looks like an experiment in a genetic laboratory went wrong and all the retarded creatures produced got dressed in stuff from Oxfam and were set loose in one town. Magic.
• the smack heads will entertain

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
