Skateboarding Spots

  • there is a nice as wearhouse not far from the skatepark its apparantly getting demolished but nothing has been touched for ages, used to be open to skaters/bmxrs etc. used to have 2 (approx)4ft quarter pipes, a nice concrete box in the middle (beautiful height for manuals etc about the height of two curbs)the concrete box used to have sketchy ramps over it and was pretty fun to fly over, then the other side a big metal flatbank. also a (i think) 4 set quite steep but not too much trouble and loads of legdes, this place is packed with materials to make new ramps etc from. pretty nice spot definatly better than bury skatepark for people who arent ramp skaters. to get to it just go to bury skatepark instead of climbing the fence (or walking round to the gate) cross the road so ur out the front of a flooring company (usually have office chairs out the front aswell. then walk away from town (towards the pub) and on your right u will see 2 smashed up abandoned wearhouses a white one and a brown one, the brown one is the one. get in and hope some bastard hasnt taken all the ramps down etc.... p.s. may take a bit of work to get in, so take something to open the wooden boards over the windows.

Bawn: far out of town centre on Mildenhall Road. Two excellent tarmac islands in car park. Fairly high. One long, one short. Long island frequently waxed. Big flatland area. Smoothest surface in the country? "One push and your eyes need drying." After 5.30 or weekends. B & Q: big car park. Curb islands, nice square metal bar. What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Bury St Edmunds. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Bury St Edmunds.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
