Hanley Park, the museum, my back yard (avoiding dogshit from oversized poodle), Newcastle town centre, Burlsem park had an official "skating area". Wow!
PARK
Queen's park in Newcastle.
the queens gardens in newcastle is where all the fit skaters hang out
Keele University Central Pedestrian Area
Wherever there's no one in a flurescent jacket and walki talkie.
(they usually have grey hair)
Hanley has lots of places to skate: small steps, big steps, handrails, metal benches, plastic benches, grindy curbs and the whole building has 3' transitioned banks to wall the whole way round. Ramp in Hanley Park. Museum still good. Also check out the multi-storey in Newcastle. Immensely slidy free-standing curbs.
Skateboard Shops
theres dazed in hanley that sells loads of boards and trucks.
DAZED
Dazed in Brunswick street is by far and away the best skate shop within a 20 mile radius of Hanley. All the staff are very knowledgeable and they have a huge range of stock and are if you can't find what your looking for just ask and they'll do there best to get it in for you. As for Dignity up the road and mentioned here a few times I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole most of the stuff looks like cheap knock-offs and the staff are rubbish.
Dazed is in stoke, but its a rip-off, so right next door is Dignity, half the price! even though some of the stuff is a bit suspicious! Find them both on Picadilly in Hanley
Dazed-aint no where else. dont need to be neither
Dignity - piccadilly arcade, Dazed next to dignity.
dazed skateboard shop see www.dazed-skateshop.co.uk
Dazed Retail on Brunswick Street - where Mike Lloyds used to be a couple of years ago. Was called Rollersnakes originally when it was on Piccadilly, then changed to Gravity Daze. The shop moved a couple of years ago to were it is now. Skate department is upstairs.
LOL knowone seems to know that GRAVITY DAZE moved 3 years ago to Upper Hunchback Street changed its name to DAZED and is situated next to a chinkey Resturant.
You can get cool Quicksilver stuff as close as 30 miles away in Manchester!!
Lichfield
dignity
Dignity on Piccadilly in Hanley, does really good cheap Baggies, Jus wot u need when ur tearin up ur old ones tryin to nail a decent trick.
rollersnakes now known as gravity daze, lot more snowboarding stuff than there was.
lol! you serious, the only one i know is Dazed, i dont go near the place though!
dignity in hanley
Years ago, there was Yanks, god bless 'em. I think now it's just Rollersnakes, now called Gravity Daze. They're okay. The guys inside play way too much Pearl Jam. Any Pearl Jam at all is too much.
GRAVITY DAZE, GRAVITY.
Roller snakes on Picadilly sells the coolest gear.
Good shop in Macclesfield, 25 miles away, but thats your lot in this alienated shithole
see The Shop on Marsh Street - good wear for tear
Gravity Daze on Piccadilly is the only one and it's just been done up!
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide.
