Favourite Building

• Swan Hotel, the Lighthouse, water pump, market square, the brewery, old terraced houses.
• my beach hut!!!
• The lighthouse.
• Jennie Jones Estate Agents
• The light house. And the Harbour Inn, which is right next to the harbour and has the 1950 something flood level marked on the wall. Good food too.
• The Swan Hotel

Demolish It Now Building

• The club house on the common, but only so they can build us a nice new one!!
• The Pier!!!!
• The water tower on the common - they could at least paint it light green like most of the others in Suffolk.
• stella the first building on the left as you come in to town .

The Best Things

• the boys that vist it!!!!!
• I can only agree that it is a wonderfully quiet and relaxing place with excellent pubs and nice walking
• Crab fishing down at the harbour. Walberswick on the other side of the river hosts the British Crab fishing Championships every year.
• Going to look for golf balls in the gorse on the golf course, and then selling them to the golfers. Getting sweets by weight from Purdey's Newsagent next to the Post Office. Especially Purdeys Mix.
• Beautifully preserved houses
• Sitting outside the Sailors Reading Room with a pint of Broadside watching the world pass by
• The ferry across to Walberswick - three minutes in a white-knuckle ride rowing boat against the ferocious tidal flow.
• Relaxing and picture-sque. Good for romance; long-walks; in-breeding.

The Worst Things

• the winter, soooooo cold nout 2 do
• Nobody local now lives there they can't afford too sine half of Richmond moved there. All of the Southwold Football team (bar one) now live outside. The other irritating thing is that Adnams run everything in the town, which if you are not big into 1984 can get on your nerves. How many accommodations agencies still think that a TV and a washing machine are optional luxuries?
• Being a teenager.....
• Inbreeding is highly evident- which is rather worrying
• Can't buy any takeaway beer wine etc. after 7:30 pm as off licence shuts.
• Jobs, things to do.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
