• Nandos on the Snipe is excellent.

• Fish `n`Chippy on Edge Lane, Near the Half Way House is a tradtional English Fish and Chip shop, well worth a visit. Open every lunch and tea time Monday to Fridays.
• Rajas on Market Street offers excellent kebabs and for chinese i'd recommend either Happy Star on Manchester Road or Alan po fongs on Greenside Lane.
• there is a very good italin restaurants at the bottom of market street was the fishing tackle shop then a chippy but worth a vist
• Alan Po Fongs on Greenside Lane is a good chippy.
• Kakoli on Manor Road, Indian Restaurant

Pubs

• The Lazy Toad (formerly Astley Arms) is recently refurbished and keeps most of the scum out. I hear the restaurant is very good too. The White Hart usually has a good, friendly atmosphere. Moss Tavern is full of chavs & fresh faced young people who enjoy a good "ruck".

• The Church Hotel is now closed since the youthful plastic gangsters decided to use the place to practice their social skills. Try Screwy Hugheys ( Formerly The Astley Arms ) It is coming up in the world and having a lot of money spent on it. On of the better pubs lately.
• There are about 35 pubs in Droylsden, ranging from your old mans boozing pub-Halfway house to The Royal Oak on Manchester Rd-quite a young but lively crowd in here.Karaoke on Thursdays and Sundays and a disco on Sat & Sun. Also Steelees on Craven Street seems to be the place to be for the local "in" crowd. You are always likely to see a kick off in here too!
• Gardeners Arms - karaoke, quiz, fun night etc

Cafes and Coffee Shops

• loads all over, tesco and co op are good ones
• Pams Cafe, Edge Lane/Manchester Road junction.
• Billys place on market street serves a top breakfast.
