Hook-up Spots (That hallowed spot where everyone hangs around with their mates dreaming of the time when they can get into the pubs or clubs - a bench, a corner: you name it.)

  • Ashton park is a good place to buy drugs, nah only messin Rl Hugues school at night is better.
  • skits n RL- out ov em all thats usually were people last longest without gettin chucked off everywhere by the pigs- defo the best place
  • The one place to go nowadays is either Ashton Heaf (big field with trees hear the eagle n child) or over Canni (back of ashton leisure centre). Always loadsa booza available and always a good laff.
  • if your looking for a fight ashton (tennis courts) park is the place to be on a friday night. If ya looking for sex just wait around outside Queens or friends and wink at every female and after about 5 mins there ya go.
  • byrchall oh and gerard sign and the market.
  • First it was St Oswalds, then Brychall, Then Eddies, then Skitters Woods, then the Market. Skitters Woods were best as there were loads of places you could hide if the pigs came over. Also, it is fairly close to Tommys shop where we all used to get our bottles of White Lightening from! the Market was good because it used to be really easy to break into the sheds and hide from the police!
  • There was lots of places. Ashton park, Eddies school, Ashton town centre, the back of Kwick save, Skitters Wood.
  • Ashton Market - I was in the last set of people to hang around there - it was a place for us young ones for years but we never had anybody take over when we grew up - there used to be about 50+ of us - then of course there was all the 'boyracers' aswell - it used to be packed! Always got a pitta bread and chips from 'The Med' on the way home! I always said as soon as I had a car I would also be the first 'girlracer' on the Market - but like I said - nobody followed the trend - too many market sheds burnt down I think!
  • outside byrchall school gates
  • In my time I allways used to go down to Old georges pond with a bottle of merrydown, but it seems that Kwiky car park is the new haunt for the 12-15 yr olds. Allways see Fishy and Darwin hanging about with cans of Tenants Super around Bryn station every night, normally chatting up 12yr old girls.
  • Gerard Centre sign Kwik Save car park
  • Lots of young boys ten to hang around the Jocksters special club shed
  • The back of the sheds on low bank road field. R L Hughes playing field gives good access to the skitters when the law arrive. the leasure centre roof has holes above the womens changing room (well it did 6 or so years back). there is always ten tons of filth in carrier bags in the skitters to read while drinking your gold mez.
  • The tennis parks The flower park Skitters Woods
  • that green cable box on the corner of old road across from the post office always has some lad from canny snogging a girl who's sat on it. he usually has his hand up her skirt too!

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
