Cringing Cult of Celebrity (Famous residents and ex-residents.)

• The Darkness, Sex Pistols and The Who all lived in the same vicinity but not all at the same time (obviously).
• Newsreaders, broadcasters, rude stroppy PR people from the record industry. Vanessa Regdrave.
• Alan Rickman ... plays Professor Severus Snape in Harry Potter... was also in Die Hard, Michael Collins, Dogma, Sense and Sensibility, etc.(there are about 20 more)..basically the greatest actor ever born!
• John Humphrys
• Daniel Radcliffe
• Liz Hurley Jill Dando (defintely ex)
• Shepherd's Bush does not boast a huge amount of celebrities (they all move to Notting Hill as soon as they are succesful!) But Nick Cave lived here Maybe still does) and was apparently spotted walking across the Green to his own gig at the Empire the last time he played there. Also spotted drinking in the Bushranger over the years-James Dean Bradfield from the Manic Street Preachers, Dolores O'Riorden from the Cranberries and Jim Bob and Fruit Bat from Carter the Unstoppabel Sex machine! (Yes I thought you'r be impressed!)
• Cedric from TFI Friday (which is filmed at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith). Since both EMI and Polygram have their offices in the area, you can see a lot of singers wandering around - Finlay Quaye, The Honeyz, Jarvis Cocker (at Townhouse Studios on Goldhawk Road).
• Johnny Vaughn of The Big Breakfast Holly Johnson, former lead singer with Frankie goes to Hollywood Carol Thatcher - ex-resident Danni Minogue - ex-resident
• Faye Dunaway (well.. Chiswick actually) she moved on when the council wouldn't let her make her street a private road.
• Richard Briers
• Vanessa Redgrave
• Magnus Pyke

Buskers, Street Entertainers

• Don Partridge used to be outside the Lyric Theatre on Saturdays but no one now.
• The man in the short sleeved shirt on Askew Road outside the Eagle and Sunshine Grocers who is constantly picking up litter and carrying out strange rituals with litter bins, whatever the weather
• The woman who walks around shouting thins like "... THEY GAVE ME ELECTRO CONVULSIVE THERAPY WITHOUT MY CONSENT..." and "... YOUNG BOYS SHOULD BE SODOMISED..."
• The Slow Woman with bleached blond hair, who buys some fish and chips and then proceed to walk away very, very, very slowly. Actually i think she is mad.
• There is an Aussie busker called Paul who sings at the Slug & Lettuce on Thursday and Sunday nights

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
