Favourite Building

• The gothic-looking museum
• town hall. looks kinda gothic. also the castle- even though its a crumbling ruin it looks a HELL of a lot better than anything else in this cess-pit of a town.
• Top churcj looks pretty impressive when you look up the hight street.
• Dudley Snooker Club, Stafford Street.
• The castle..its so nice at night!
• Dudley register office - a register office that is actually scenic to marry in - people come from miles to marry here
• The albion

Demolish It Now Building

• where to start? you'd need a second-hand nuclear bomb off the russians to do it properly...
• where to start? anything built post 1960's. the place is a homage to the use of concrete.
• The yukky bus station is a nut house at night time.
• No Limits nightclub (was Bentleys) and Focus/Goldsmiths nightclub - yuk!!!
• The courthouse pub

The Best Things

• hmmm...(sound of crickets, wind whistling away in background, and the gentle passage of a tumbleweed...)
• hmmmmmmm. having real difficulty here...
• the community in some of those areas of dudley! everyone knows everyone else, and they all look out for each other! (well...mostly)
• Pride in the Black Country Decent beer at fairly cheap prices Merry Hill Dudley College Lots of foreign students Close to Wolverhampton!
• Drinking Karaoke

The Worst Things

• All of it! the place is a dump! Its all cheapo shops, scrubby 1960's architecture, and lots of litter. It ranks just below Milford Haven and Pensnett on my most hated list.
• start at the town centre and work outwards for about 4 or 5 miles.
• the nutters that hang around the bus station at night.
• Being called a Brummie. And not having a chip shop near my boyfriends house..we have to walk about 5 mins to get to the nearest one! hehe
• People thinking you're thick 'cause of the accent - or worse...thinking that you're a Brummie!!!! (heaven forbid!) Lack of seriously good shops in the town centre...we used to have M&S, Littlewoods, BHS, C&A, Dixons, Sainsburys many, many years ago, but they've all buggered off to Merry Hell (as some call it) and been replaced with naff pound shops that sell nowt but tat! Beatties is still here, but for how much longer? The Grimleys - talk about giving a dog a bad name........

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
