Skateboarding Spots

• The new state of the art Scate Park in Blantyre is visited by people from all over Scotland and Ireland. There are talks about building a new indoor section in 2007 with a members only club.........watch this space
• Down behind the sports centre is a great goth spotting place.

• The Blantyre skatepark is finally finished made from concrete it has large funbox with rail, quarter pipe, mini bowl (kidney shaped),banks and flyoffs thats just the street area. There is a 8 foot halfpipe and a six foot halfpipe which run next to each other 2 hips and a 5 foot spine with half bowls. belive me this is a great skatepark when there are not loads a learners about so if you want some free space to ride go after 8:30 at night or very early in the morningalso bring a mate or 5 neds wont bother a croud of you. mid you the neds are begining to skate now .....
• none but there is a skating park bing opened this year but i realy feel for those guys they will have to pay these guys money to buy there own boards back after the neds mug them

Skateboard Shops

• There are now three Board Shops in Blantyre all on the main street. The latest of these is called "The Axel" and it stocks the new range of "Brazilian Boards" made in the USA. For an extra thrill board on the wild side at Davie Livies where the new "Buckfast Crew" hang out........wicked !!
• There are no skate shops at present but i am hoping to resolve that issue in the near future(WATCH THIS SPACE)

• Blantyre now has a wonderful tattoo shop in the main street downstairs from where Raptures used to be. Kenny will be more than happy to stick a needle into various parts of your body for a small price. Blantyre is a small town but is still home to around 20 pubs. This is due to the fact that we are all jakey scum. If you would like to witness this for yourself then take a walk through Low Blantyre Public Park, via Littles, Landmark then through High Blantyre Public Park you will see an array of Merrydown and Buckfast bottles. I must stress that if you decide to tae the magical tour of Blantyre you will more than likely return home without your wallet, shoes, jacket and perhaps even your glasses. You have been warned.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
