Food

• what part of the world would you like some food from? we got some. multi cultural community - malaysian, chinese, indian, thai, west indian etc and at affordable prices, deptford is great

• Jam packed with these. There's the Noodle King, Phi Lac, Tasty Chicken Crispy Cod, The Kebab House, Wap dem an Cum, Cummin' Up, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Vissuvio and the list goes on. It's an endless string of shops running all the way along the High street into Evelyn street and on down towards Elephant and Castle.

Pubs

• Live Bar A different type of bar all together from the standard local, a converted bank, so its spacious inside and is open till 2am towards the end of the week, £3 to get in if not early enough. It's probably the start of a trend to catch the trade new trendy apartments that are springing up in the area
• hobgoblin, the wibbly wobbly, the montague arms, paradise bar, deptford arms - like them ones, but there are tons...
• The Goldsmiths Tavern(next door Goldsmiths College New Cross)holds a crazy event every so often called "Night of The Cane" This event is for over 18 fetishists only and has to be seen to be believed! "Live SM Caning competitions"on bare bottoms male and female! Also a Medieval Fayre in kinky dress! With live "whipping". Bizarre.
• The John Evelyn Pub right across from Coomes and beside the Creek Road Post Office is the best in the South...or so I've been told and the Cranbrook across from Brookmill Park. There are others of course, but I've been assured they need not be mentioned.

Cafes and Coffee Shops

• loads of alternative mutoid cafe shops along nu x road, use your loaf, hales gallery, tony's cafe does the best chips in the country (tanned brown not pale bollox), and loadsa places for the students from lewisham college and goldsmiths students to hang out in.
• Of course there's the unmissable Gregg's and Percy Ingle and Lucy's, all good to varying degrees in their own specialities, all affordable and all staffed by some of the nicest people you're likely to have met for a long time.

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
