Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
Live bar for me, not the average boozer in Deptford or on the New Cross Rd Stretch - it is indeed the Bank that turned into a bar and good job too, went there on a monday night to unwind and ease into the working week, lady DJ playing Latin jazz and groovy toons, half price cocktails too. Usual dance malarky on weds-sun they tell me.
Paradise Bar a couple of nights a week, the fez, New Cross Inn
Golf clubs? Ha ha ha. Normal dance music clubs Ha Ha Ha Ha. The closest we get to that is THE FEZ in New Cross...it's wicked (or so I hear). But as for in-house clubbing entertainment...we are sadly lacking.
Live Music Venues
Paradise bar is RE-OPENED!!!! but sadly, not as a club anymore, and its renamed as Six String Bar, but will always be paradise bar in our hearts. More live bands friendly people
The Gig (Amersham Arms)Nu X Rd, The Venue (tribute acts) Nu X Rd, Paradise Bar Nu X Rd, The Centurion Deptford Broadway, Albany Douglas Way, Goldsmiths Tavern Nu X Road
None to speak of. But that's not as bad as it seems cos we're only a small town bordered by two more happening ones (Lewisham and New Cross). We make it a point to partake of their delights.
Cinemas
you used to be able to walk to greenwich and they knocked down the art deco cinema in deptford. surrey docks has a multi screen and so does greenwich filmworks. they show films at use your loaf, 227 deptford high street, on a friday (from 7pm)
No bowling or any of the other stuff. In fact no cinema...closest one's in Greenwich (pain) and even that is not especially good. What we need is recognition so we can get our own entertainment and recreation going.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Deptford.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
