Skateboarding Spots
brookmills park has some OK metal benches - good to string a flatland runa dn a few grinds if you are local.
there is a small brick island at the 'elverson road' end of the park - watch out for the local yout
if you carry on through the arnoury road estate (the low rise red flats) there are a couple of angled paveents which are good as kick outs. AS you get to the end of the estate (paseed compass house) there are the best of these small kickouts.
If you then look to your right there is the railway line - if you go under the bridge it bringd you out on brookmill rod. Look to your left and see a matalan. The carpark is red brick, a bit rough - but there are some flat square black bars (about a foot high) good for learning stuff if your wheels aren't too small or hard. There is often pallets lying around where you can set up manual islands and lisplide blocks etc. Watch out for the pikey kids who are a pain but harmless. I am normally roufn there but am leaving the country soon! keep ot happening in the 'ford though!(stroke lewisham!)
well id skate round deptford square and by the albany when shopping wasnt on - always thought those big spaces should be used
Sorry. No new info there, unless you want to include the smooth areas of Brookmill Park and the newly re-done sections of the pavement that would be ideal for roller/skate boarding. Did I mention the scenery in the park, the fully populated duck pond and the only-just-built children's play area? Another of the pluses of Deptford.
Skateboard Shops
There's a amall shop on the corner of the market that deals with sports goods. Never seen a name, but if its the non-traditional gear you're after...drop by and have a browse.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Deptford.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
