Skateboarding Spots
Park is damn good, whole side is just one huge quarter with extension, box, huge pyramid (nice) with grind box (also nice) this leads to a roll in to box (not so good for skating but good for bikes, throws you low and long rather than high and short), flat bank with grindxow down, another quarter and over in one corner theres a wedge box and a rail and a flat bank...My friend says that the surface saps your speed but I didnt really notice myself....beware of the usual local scummers sitting around spitting everywhere and laughing at you when you fall over.....or touching their missus's up whilst their mates sit right next to them....real classy like.....
New skatepark is refreshingly good. Probably 400msq, surface dense tarmac (only gets a little bit sticky 25 degrees and upwards). One side complete quarterpipe, approx 6.5ft, up to 8.5 ft one end. In middle one side you've got a bigger than expected pyramid / driveway / rail / combi thing. Bit steeper that it looks. In middle on other side you've got short sloped rail box (good for manual-up-over-out tricks, and a pathetic but smooth rail (about 10cms high at one end!) Other end has shallow bank about 7ft wide and 3 ft high, and a seperate 45 deg bank with rail / quarterpipe / rollin. Local kids input into design and good construction means it's pretty good all round, but is a little bit biased towards bladers. Which is not neccesarily a good thing.
Only criticism is that the pryamid is a little steep to get real height off it unless you really go at it from highest QP or rollin from other side. Best trick seen so far is 3ft hight 360flip up and off the pryamid.
All new Fordingbridge skatepark installed August 04 by GBH Engineering Ltd

Playing field just over bridge from centre of town. 16' wide 4-5' high metal surfaced mini. Tarmac area with small curved banks and low, ultra-mellow mogul. Slide bar.
Skateboard Shops
Erm.No but there is a ramp!
No skateboardshops except for the sports shop which is next to the Lion Hotel.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
