Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains
nothing really worth mentioning, although some of the secondhand/charity shops have some nice retro stuff if ur in to that
Clothing bargains, including occasional designer labels, can be found at the catalogue discount shop on Stockport Road
All charity shops along the A6, but has one "catalogue" shop where you can buy dodgy clothing for half the price, where 95% of people in Leve purchase their clothes!
Quite a few, but of the 'Market Trader' variety and quality. To be avoided at all costs, lest you want to have the 'Levenshulme Look' ... ie sports clothing, no socks, trainers or Rockport boots, jewellery, wet perm (females) / No.2 all over (males).
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)
erm...i think the antiquewear house has some arts and craft stuff other than that i think we are lacking on that front!
Lots and lots of furniture shops, fireplace shops, pine stuff and so on. Loads. The old Town Hall is now the Antiques Village and is BRILLIANT for old furniture, strange ornamnets, collactables, memorabilia and so on. Everything from suits of armour to model aircraft.
Bric-a-brac (crap) shops everywhere, especially up Stockport Road. Maybe a few decent ones.
Magazine and Comic Shops
Plenty of asian newsagents sell a library of adult magazines, but if you've got the net, u don't need that.
None. But 'Kash News' newsagents, whilst not carrying a great selection of magazines, are dead friendly and will do their best to get hold of anything you're after, even one-offs.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
