Record Shops
why would people in atherton buy music, when the hill billies usually play their git - tar.
bolton (hmv)
The best selection for records in Atherton is Barnado's (or any of the other 300 charity shops). A sorry state of affairs indeed.
x records bolton
There used to be a small record shop. I say used, it was there about 10 years ago, its now a cab office. Probs soon to be derelict like most other places.
The second hand book shop might have a few cracked Max Miller 45's in the 5p box.
Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
they opened the " Venue" in the old cinema, full of desperate old slags after young flesh.
A new club, which is a soul club over the top of Olivers Bar which used to be Sidroys restaurant then it turned into The Venue which was crap. Its not much good though because nobody goes there because its CRAP to
A knew Jazz club has opened For "Strictly over 25's" Which used to be the Venue Club.
Dance music is shit, im glad theres no clubs in atherton.
a new club called morgans has just opened in place of the old soldiers and sailors club, club goers have given it a thumbs up!
Live Music Venues
The Glass Barrel has live rock music, some great bands - some crap might I add. Check the latest at http://www.glassbarrel.co.uk Only pub in Athy with a website methinks!!
Apparently you can "jam" at the Atmosphere which has just opened..... so far there seems to be more bouncers than customers.
However, theres no other music venues either.
formby hall holds host to a variety of music events among other things including the bents& bongs beer bash......very popular
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
