Record Shops

• Texaco sell a wide range of CD's, think they have about 4 different ones.
• the only music shop is the flat up tyldesley where scallies sell hardcore tape packs
• Astley hasnt moved into the 21stC yet, in fact it hasnt even reached the 19thC. There is no such thing as a record shop in Astley and there probably wont be for at least 20 years.

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars

• None here, but leigh is about 5 minutes down the road, i suppose it's alright there.
• a ha the 'famous' limelight club full of youngsters wi short short skirts and young lad been glassed!
• I've been to the flickering light aswell... not sure what the scallies see in it
• again that flat up tyldesley or the one above sale lane shops
• Nowhere in Astley is a club... you'll have to travel to Leigh to get to a club and rock fans are catered for even worse by having to travel to Wigan or Bolton to get to the nearest rock club... hence the number of shaven headed goons in the vicinity.
• Now lets not be silly! The nearest thing to a club in Astley is the flickering street light outside the off licence.

Live Music Venues

• the pub outside mc donalds has a new imadge! yep its now a biker bar! ha ha only if they run over the scallies outside mc donalds! they have bands there someties but if beards dont turn you on then the flitch and firkin in leigh has occasional 'battle of the bans' saved usually for bank holidays (sadly).
• At one point there were some bands practising in garages or whatever but that kind of stopped. Other than that theres the limelight up in tyldesley, but being in tylsdesley really says something about it really
• Around the early 1980's Astley lads used to go to a club called the 180 club in tyldesley. Danny Hybrid (Now a world class international DJ)started up a breakdance/bodypopping night on a sunday night and used to Drop Electro tunes. That even today ive never managed to top. Astley lads were cutting edge at the age of Twelve. Knocks socks off the Hacienda. Well maybe wasnt that good.
• I suppose you could class the Catholic Club in Mosley Common as a small venue... some bands play there... sometimes... if at all.
