Abingdon, Oxfordshire Pubs, Cafes, Coffee Shops and Restaurants

Food

• Dil Raj restaurant. An absolutely fantastic Indian. Great service.
• There are about 3-4 Chinese Takeaways and several Indian restuarants dotted about plus one or two fish and chip shops. But standing or sitting outside eating meals tends to attract yobs to you at night.(perhaps they think hands full will make you easier to mug?) Also passers by stare as if you were really really wierd eating a meal in the street.
• Crumbs sandwich shop. The Breakfast bap rocks! Not for the faint-hearted
• best cheese shop in the world (also olives, tea, hand made chocs) at wells' stores in stert street; healthfood, candles, aromastuff at frugal foods next to co-op
• Abingdon is famous (Well, it has a page on the Web!) for its Kebabs! There's a kebab van in the Market square most nights, and Sami's kebab shop on Ock street is pretty good. There're a couple of Indian restaurants too, the Dil Raj and the Prince of India. Both are pretty good. Multitudes of Fish and Chip shops, and a few Chinese take aways are open around pub closing time!

Pubs

• Abingdon has a large number of pubs.Fine of you are 16 years old,or a deadhead local who gets stoned everty nite but otherwise absolutley boring.
• The Kings Head and Bell by the Town Hall is by far the best pub in Abingdon. Check out the after hours disco upstairs. A good laugh, and if you're lucky you'll get Fulla MC freestyling and taking over. Drum and Bass and Old Skool mayhem! AYI! Night Night! The Black Swan is to be avoided. Full of squaddie wankers! The Beehive, used to be good, now bloody rough. Full of boyracers scrapping about dizzy tarts!
• Boundary house is full of townie small minded twats who like to look for a fight and take the piss of passers by. however, it is near my house.
• White hart, fifield and merry miller, cothill (each a couple of miles out) with class beer and food
• Loads to choose from. Worthy of note (in my opinion) are The Kings Head and Bell, The Mill House, and Stocks Bar, which is the bar owned by The Crown and Thistle Inn. The Stocks has a gorgeous little barmaid on occasion, at least it did have the last time I was there! The Old Anchor Inn is a nice change, and it has quiz nights on Mondays and Thursdays to help pass the time!

Cafes and Coffee Shops

• Anigdon coffee house!! very small and old-person looking, but nice all the same. They do a mean chicken baguette.
• Mountstevens, i'd give it a 10 out of 10 for uncleanlyness.
