He knows his stuff (and has impeccable taste) when it comes to music of all kinds and will happily spend hours ruminating on the various merits of some obscure Polish jazz (or something). • Hi we just want to say thanks to all the staff at Samanthas for making our New Year out in Exmouth(2007/08) a fantastic night! We came down from Bristol after reading an article in The Times about how good Exmouth was at New Year. We can recommend it fully. Thanks as well to all the people in the towns pubs we meet for the friendly warm welcome we got. Happy New Year to you all. See you next Year!!
• Hey everyone- I'm doing some research on clubbing in Exmouth...where's good to go? What's hot and what's not?
• I cannot believe what this site has turned into!!!!!! i was one of the first to write my contribution on this and i've just spent a wasted 20 minutes of my life reading how everyone is bitching at each other. Surely a good night out is judged by the friends that you are with (if any of you actually have any), not where you go. Yeah all the clubs are as naff as each other but most times i've been out, i haven't cared about whether Farenheit has got a hotty serving me, or whether Sams has had a new lightbulb put in or even if Q Club is quiet and my friends and i are the only ones in there. Come on guys get a life.... That includes the obvious workers of these clubs that are hyping their own ones up and dissing the others. Also reality check. If Farenheit is so good, then why does it allow all the people in from he banned list, oh i know, probably because most of the doormen are on it too and they're all sucking up to the almighty owner (lol) - any of you actually see what happened to Carisma, the last club!!!! If sam's is so good, why are all the staff on here trying to hype it up and keeping a useless feud going on, i know,because they have nothing better to do because they've working in a nightclub most of their life and on their nights of go in there as well. They live near it, they do nothing but talk about it..yawn...oh sorry, i think i nodded of. Which brings me to Q Club. I couldn't care less if there was an older generation in there. At least it makes a change from the suspect young looking people in the other two(with the exception of wednesday nights change a nappy night - we check every id my arse) It also means that most of them are in there because they can't be bothered with the likes of unfortunately most of the people writing on this due to your biast, biggoted, stupid, futile, boring and annoying comments. And one last thing, i can't wait till this no smoking ban comes in just to see which one of the clubs is the first to dob the other in.LOL.
• does any one remember that night club the matrix? its hilarious how everything they did on their way down sams is now doing!!! but at least matrix actually filled the club on their judge jules and dave pierce nights. the thing is ur right exmouth is not what u would call hard core clubbing, but that is because their is no market for it here. i cant believe sams are stupid enough to make the same mistake as previous clubs. i think bringing DJs like this to exmouth is irresponsible because the type of people they attract are pill heads and gurners!! not who id like to spend my evenings with! no one here seems to appreciate dance music here n e way. if the do they'd rather travel to bristol or plymouth for a proper drug filled night. thanks samanthas for bring the reputation of exmouth down!!!
• Thanks all you guys at sams for a top night with judge jules it was just what this sleepy town needed and i met up with some old mates from plymouth i aint seen in ages so that was a top end to a great night and can't wait till the next one CLUBBINNN RULLLEESSS !

• Ok all the guys that work at Sams, Q Club & Farenheit you can all stop using this site to Bitch at each other now. Believe it or not the people that do have influence at these clubes do read this site and find the comments quite amusing. Anyway i think we would all agree that Exmouth is a town dead on it's back when it comes to proper clubbing and seeing something wildly diffrent. Well fear not because Sams on Friday 22nd December 2006 is being totaly transformed into the internantional club "SLINKY" On the night you will see Judge Jules, Marc Vedo, Dav Gomrass, & Tony Fever - Gatecrasher. The Club is having alot of new lighting installed for the night to include the latest Laser Light effects as well as New Sound System. There is also live video installed so you can see the dj's hard at work in the dj area live on the giant screen. It's in all our interests to support these nights so please come along to see the show it's only a tenner ! £10.00
• Everyone knows the best night out in exmouth is maderia walk or the skatepark yeah sams does have ground-breaking dj's and the housewives in q-club are defiantly bringing sexy but for an allround brilliant night out its got to be maderia walk or the bench opposite allys kebab.
• ha ha loving the fact that q club think that just because for the last month the students have decided to party there that it will keep them from closing. yeah its busy on a wed but it stinks and plays the s**test music--spicegirls i mean seriously. go there anyother night and it dead as. plus the students leave in a yr what u gonna do then!!!
• The only reason for going to a club in this town is because they're open and the pubs aren't so if you wanna keep drinking... Farenheit is my personal fave but thats an opinion and doesn't mean the others are any worse, but i just wish they'd play more decent rock music(although i have occasionally heard some). There are plenty of decent rock songs out there that get people going as much as, if not more than, most 'dance' music. Why can't AT LEAST one decent pub in town make good use of the 24hr licencing laws???

• is it me or is sams just letting in anybody these days?? i couldnt believe it when i saw my 15 yr old sister dancing with some marine on the floor!! seroiusly if i wanted to go clubbing with a load of kids id check out my local youth club...having said that some of the yobs you get in fahrenheit turn me right off the place. i cant believe they actually let people how r bad from the likes of jax and the albion in there!! either they dont care about the look of the club of the bouncers are super arrogent and think they can handle it....which they cant. sams and q might have done alot wrong in the past but at least they r making an effort. i much prefere sams these days its bigger so even when u do come across ur underage sister atleast u dont bump into her every 10 min. plus is it me or r the bar staff in fahrenheit a load of scanks and super grumpy there used to be a real buzz behind the bar but u practically get ur drink chucked at u nowadays...someone needs to give them lot a pay rise or a good talking to.they kill the place...i will say with the exception of those blonde twins!!!

• All the clubs in Exmouth are the same. Same crap music policy, same in week after week. If I wanted to listen to that sort of music, I shall gatecrash someone's wedding reception. There is no proper clubs in Exmouth, just mass meeting places. Sams is about the best of a worse bunch regarding music policy, Q's your lucky to get punters in the double figures on a Thursday and they only fill up on the weekend due to same old crowd. Fahrenheit lives upto to it's name about heat. I know it's a new club and they need to make money, but turning the aircon on once in a while is not going to break the bank and may actually mean people stay longer. Music wise, it's terrible. Could do no worse if they got rid of the DJ's and got an automated request system in. At least if we listen to crap then, it would be our own fault. Exmouth is a town of clubbing sheep and once the Rolle closes, there will only be space for one main club. My money is not on fahrenheit.

• i believe fahrenheit has excelled all expectations and i say well done to it!! also can i just ask what has sams got planned for next year when it is they're ACTUAL 30th year anniversary, not the one they MADE UP in a failed attempt to win back customers.all of you winging on this site about HYPE and SPINNING sams have outdone any other nightclubs in this town by lying and trying to con people into they're club through 'its our 30th anniversary' hype. funny thing is that didnt work either.....

• farenheit has got shit. yeah i still go there but only coz no one else goes n e where else. i reacon that might change soon tho.. if u ask me farenheit aint all that. i was in there the other week and the bars run out of stuff. i couldnt get the drink i wanted coz they run out!!! its a sat its gonna be busy why aint there enuff drink in the place. it wasnt any busy then what ive seen it. plus when i asked for ice i was looked at like i was asking for a million quid its so hot in the place is it wrong to ask or a cube of ice...im paying tomuch for the drink as it is.i dont see whats wrong with asking for some ice. and whats wrong with the music.... why cant any of the d j s mix? if i have to listen to the same set of music one more time im not going!! dolly parton, faithless..... its so predictable if i wanted to listen to hardcore dance id go to a club that promotes hardcore.plus is it me or is it getting dirty in there. when people puke up why is it never cleared away...glasses smashed all over the toilet....its no better than being in sams before they had the refit....if u want some advice i tell ya what,...u've been open a long time now and i admit in the beginning u had everyone, but now when u go to farenheit u arent going 'wow' andymore coz weve been there and seen it a million times now and heard all the same music. give us something new before we all f off back to sams again!! thats why no one goes to sams n e more coz they got cocky and didnt try n e more
• i 100% agree....but can i just ask where have all the fit barmaids in fahrenheit gone? that was mostly the reason i went to the club!!!!! been away since xmas and they have vanished.....please bring them back (especially the ones that worked on the main bar) ..... if not can anyone tell me where i can find them???LOL...just interested!!!LOVE EXMOUTH AND ALL IT OFFERS

• heehee!! i think that for people (like myself) to be bothing to log onto this and other websites to talk about the infamous fahrenheit just shows that the club has really had an impact on the town of exmouth. people slatting the club (and i really cant see why) and highlighting the fude (if there really is one) between sams and fahrenheit does nothing but promot the club. think about it, if you just logged on here and read just how strongly people feel about a night club....wouldnt you want to visit it? so i bet both clubs are saying thanks for the free promotion!! im a student in exmouth and i sometimes go to sams but i prefere fahrenheit. sams got way to big for its boots and started charging £7.50 for a sat night. you dont even pay that where i come from (just bristol) and to be honest fahrenheit looks and is much more like a nightclub you would find in bristol and other bigger cities and fahrenheit door prices are well cheap esp for students and nurses etc and they dont need to be coz people go there where as sam have only become cheap out of despiration. lets face it sams has had its day, fahrenheit is fresh and new and what you said about the drinks prices sarah is rubbish. just look on sams website they are way more expensive. so thats all i have to say. im sure i will get abuse back about what i have said but its my opinion. but one thing you should look out for is acusing clubs of selling to underage patrons. read it on this website....its is slander and a criminal offence so be a bit more careful with pointing the finger. plus fahrenheit id everyone. i know i get id eveytime i go there and im 23.
• Wrong Big Time.. im nothing to do with Sams just someone in this town whos not fooled by the hype of Farenshite. i think your own coments and thoose of the ones i answered show more of the rubbish that Farenshite Spread around the place , so I turn that back on you and suggest that you probably have something to do with them. The Q-Club or Sams are far better alternatives to a good night out than the over hyped pub that thinks it’s a club!
• well ive just got to say that i think q club is still the best place in exmouth. you go sams its full of idiots and school kids who cant handle the few shandies that they have managed to pour down there neck and as for fahrenheit it's sams all over again. the kids must have gone there because they couldn't get into sams or they are banned.who wants to spend an evening out with kids starting fights and being gobby.NOT me and probably the majority of exmouth.

• I cant beleive the rubbish I just read about fahrenheit. its already called farenshite because of the difference between reality and the hype the club spins. you Q because the club makes you, it makes them look busy...sometimes up to an hour they then charge you extra to get on the guest list only for you to get in and find it half full. its small has crap dance floor space and the dj are rubbish ( to be polite)...if i hear Queen 'Dont stop me now' played one more time...5 times one saturday night, because it mentions fahrenheit. The decor is nice but not any nicer than any modern pub and has the most laughable toilets of any nightclub ive ever visited. The drink prices are a complete joke, especially for non premium products! as is their dress code which changes depending on wether your a friend of the owner or not. its full of Just!legal customers and those people banned from all other decent venues. If your a sheep type of person and follow people for the sake of being one of the crowd and dont mind being totally disappointed by the reality as compared to the expectations and have given up any musical integrity you might be suited for this let down of a club otherwise avoid at all cost...remeber..DO STOP ME NOW...FROM EVER GOING THERE AGAIN. The Q club offers a better small club experience with good atmosphere and friendly staff and far better prices.The music is better suited for an older audience and the dj are good. Samanthas is the only real club sized venue in the town and since its refit in easter 2005 is a very good night out with 4 bars including balcony bar and chill out room,plus very large dance floor. It plays a wide selection of music played by good professional djs. bar prices are ok as are the new entry price(The only good thing to happens due to the arrival of Fahrenshite). light and sound are good for venue of its size.The staff are very Friendly. The club has good offers and promos for parties etc. So bottom line is you pays your money and takes your choice but dont beleive the all incompassing hype of FH its honeymoon period is over...Thankfully!
• Q-Club is the best place in Exmouth, really!!!!! Friendly people, good music and just a great atmosphere all round.
• What can i say, exmouth has finally got a club worth talking about. FARENHEIT has blown away all the others. Fantastic decor and amazing lighting makes this club great for a night out. entry is well priced and drinks also. DJ's that look and sound like they are a good time too and want to entertain you. The atmosphere is great and it has become the new haven for clubbers in the area. they seem to be busy from wensday to sat as i have had to Q every night i have been this week witch means theres always people to have fun with cool.
• Q-club sucks big time not a bad club if it was the early ninties....Sams is worse can't beleive they are still open, which leaves fahrenheit which is pretty good actually Exmouth should be happy they came along!
• q club is the best place in exmouth. a mixture of all ages so every one feels welcome. friendly door staff and bar staff. highly recomend
• I have had some great nights out in sams. take your best friends and ignore the psychos. Q club on weds and thurs is outstanding, for exmouth. But hold everything - There is a new club opening where matrix once was. like a phoenix rising from the flames, FARENHEITs arrival looks set to change the course of clubbing in exmouth, and the resident djs make the competition seem like spotty teenagers experimenting with their dads record player in their bedrooms. Can't wait.
• I seem to recall in about 1990 a club called Axis in the town centre that specialised in dance music, but people didn't go there cos they "didn't recognise the songs". Then it got shut down!! Welcome to Exmouth....
• Sams Nightclub,The Q Club
• Matrix is now closed and resembled a school disco that contained people that couldn't get into the other two clubs. Sam's, affectionality know as 'scums' might be tacky, full of sexually frustrated marines, gobby students and annoying locals but it is always packed!!!!!! Q Club is mainly for marines on wednesday night and bicton students and friday night is best in there. Avoid all of these on bank holidays as the freaks come out to play!!!! Remedies is free and the drinks are cheapish. All play decent music with the exception of saturday nights in remedies, friday nights in Q and every other night in sams. Sams has the most young looking people ever, under 18 night every night. Q is a mixture of 20's to 40's and remedies is everyone else that dosen't want to pay alot of money for nothing at all.
• sam's had literally just been revamped and its major night will be tonight - sat! the ceiling has risen and there is a glass area to over look the dance floor and the dj box has moved!!!! dont diss the marines too much , they can be ok.
• Q's - full of children. Sams - full of chavs, marines and the sexually frustrated. The Matrix - Cheap and tolerable but not great.

• Well if your over 20 like me - Q club - is definately best place to go! CAn have a right laugh in there cos a complete mixture of ages! Good mixture of music and good cheap vodka nights on Weds and Thurs! However, - Wds are packed with students - so good if your from Bicton - not so good if your local! Although, everyone seems to mix in well, never any trouble. If your younger you will prob prefer Sams but drinks extremely expensive!! (oh and you still stick to the carpet!)x
• Why oh Why hasnt anyone mentioned Matrix nightclub, its better and cheaper than Sams and Q Club, and you dont stick to the carpet!! and you can wear Jeans Go on, go on,go on,go on,go on.

• some people prefer samantha's, others prefer Q club in Exmouth. personally my opinion is that sam's is for the "younger" generations and is not really a place for over 35's where as Q club is a place for the "older" generations where they can drink and gawp at us younger lot (men @ gals). not such a "goin out" atmosphere as samantha's but the drinks are cheap per bottle. there are always gonna be people who disagree or agree so my advise is to try them both and find out which one you personally feel more relaxed and comfortable in. btw the matrix nightclub hasnt really had a say in this one and that is because its the newest arrival of nightclubs in exmouth. no-one really go's there because there are way to many bouncers on the door and its not really that nice or has new popular music playing at any time. got to the point where a guy walks round the pubs giving out free tickets to get in. i dont think it's gonna help if the place is rather bad.
• Samanthas Discotheque, affectionately referred to by some locals as "the Stairway to Heaven" - MY AR5E! Seriously avoid Samanthas like the plague - the place is a dive that hasn't changed in 30 years. Bad vibes guaranteed every time folks along with tacky music and tacky clientel. If you want late night drinking cocoa at home is a far safer bet.
• I'm suprised no-ones mentioned the Q Club!! Oh what fun I've had in there, whilst attending Bicton College, esp. on a Wednesday night, when Everyone from Bicton is in there!! They sell really cheap Vodka-Lemonades-and-Limes for just a quid, yummy!! Bit dodgy in there though on a Saturday nite - lots of wierd old men!
• Samanthas. A shithole when you're pissed, and complete f*****g nightmare when you are sober. Believe me, I've done it and have the scars to prove it.
• SAMS, or Samanthas- A vibrant mixture of amazingly young looking visitors, old men, and marines from Lympstone. Also a ratio of about 1 bouncer to each person in there!!

Live Music Venues

• you have to travel to see good bands , we have a few in the muff . stelyano , chris stuckey and for the 70s york hotel on a sunday evening just to hear dave saunders try to sing !!!!! sorry dave
• The Park Hotel, The Barrel both have a variety of great bands performing.
• DARK SOVERIEGN....new CD coming soon! Lotsa gigs comin up - watch this space!
• The Old Barrell is okay - providing you like banjo's and don't object to swinging old hag's rubbing themselves up and down your trouser leg!
• The Deer Leap has a jam night that most of the local musicians go to. There is a lot of new and upcoming talent in Exmouth and gigs at the Student Union and the Deer Leap are definitely worth checking out.
• The Old Barrell and the Park Hotel often have live entertainment if thats your thing! I prefer the karaoke at The Viper Bar and The Ship myself!!!
• ummmm....the old barrel is prob the best for live music, but if your looking for a wailing kareoke night then go to remedies bar for the limelight.

• Exmouth sadly does not have much of a good live music scene - expect mostly inbred relatives of the Wurzels who play bon jovi at local pubs like the "Famous" Old Barrel. Exeter is a better option with bigger bands and more variety - try the university and the Phoenix centre.
