Sports Clubs and Facilities

  • Ibrox and Parkhead duh... there's loads of halls for martial arts as well.
  • Want to meet new people, learn a skill and win stuff? Then CLYDE ROWING is for you. We are based on Glasgow Green, but compete all over Scotland and Britain. We welcome all levels of fitness and ability, so whether you want to represent Scotland or gently improve your fitness, give it a go.
  • we all team up and git a game o footbaw in wan o the 5 pitches or roon the side o currys.
  • Celtic at Parkhead and Rangers at Ibrox. Footnall of course. Also outwith the centre towards the West End is the rusty shack that is Fir Park, home to Partick Thistle Football Club. There are various gyms that give you a real guolty feeling when yu walk past them, 'you know, I should be there' sorta thing.
  • Ibrox stadium is by far the best domestic football stadium in the country. It is the only one with a Uefa 5 star rating (amongst only a handful in the UK) which means in can host a major European football final. Unlike Parkhead which is thrown together with bits of corrugated iron and is full of soap dodgers and benefit cheats. And forget the new refurbished Hampden...what a pile of shite!
  • airdrie skatepark but its sota shite
  • I'd say Parkhead, but then I'm biased :) (My dad was born there).
  • There is a crackin game of chippie at the wall in Saracen Street, failing that there are loads of Knob Jockies outside the GOMA.
  • There used to be a brilliant private members swimming-pool just off Great Western Rd. Haven't been near it for years, and don't even know if it still exists, but it used to have hoops and everything hanging above the pool so you could do your Tarzan bit then launch yourself into the pool - sounds sad, but it was a great place.
  • celtic park, where can watch the champions of Scotland ;) , and Hampden where you can have a laugh with your mates watching the most pathetic scotland team being gubbed by some eastern european country
  • Bla Bla Bla Celtic park is the place of dreams for washed up foreign players , ie Stephan Mahe , Stephan Bones and Enrico Ennnoni to name but a few .
  • No decent footy teams in the city but if you travel down the M74, and take the Motherwell turnoff you'll soon find one.
  • Scottish Football is built on and sustained by hatred. Not very healthy.
  • The Clydesdale Pitches in South Glasgow near Shawlands are the best pitches for hockey
  • Parkhead is a much nicer place to be than castle grayskull.
  • snowboardin
  • we've aw ate so many pies that the council has closed most of these doon. but if ye want to lose weight meet me doon Queen St stations on friday nites

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Glasgow. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Glasgow.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
