Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains

  • NEXT on West Street. There is a really fit girl in there. Sophie or something close to that.
  • There are 2 notable clothes shops, Wakefields for the older (richer) customer and Apache for the fashion victim. There is the usual Burtons/Next etc too. There is also a small shop next to Apache called the Locker Room, which although looks very girlie does have some cool individual clothes for blokes.
  • Ha ha, this is Horsham. Not even a River Island or Topshop
  • We have plenty of second hand shops up East street, true quality!
  • Go to Brighton!
  • lots theres a bloke does 10 quid everything near the fountain thingy
  • M & S. Can't beat 'em.
  • Girls alert, Horsham no has a boutique in the carfax beside the Candy Store. Reasonable prices and labels such as Suzie and Lipsy. Apart from that there is Monsoon, New Look, Dotty P's and Next. Go somewhere else if I was you. Crawley has lots of clothes shops.
  • Boutique in the Carfax next to the Newsagents and Oxfam is really good for Womens clothes, the only shop there is in Horsham to buy decent womens clothes.
  • The best clothes shops are in other towns; Horsham is about as fashionable as syphilis
  • Burtons - no comment
  • Best to go to London or Brighton.
  • Apache - the ONLY clothes shop in Horsham
  • There's an M&S in SwanWalk, a Moss Bros near the Burger King if you want to dress smart.
  • Temptations: I bought 40 inch waist triple-stich jeans for £5. It's so cool.

Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

  • Bearing gifts in Southwater is great!
  • Again the market sells some really nice stuff, especially down by the town hall.
  • 2 shops but personally would say seawhites in brighton cheap and thats always necessary wen your an artist
  • 2 by 4 artists based in the drill hall put on displays through the year I think, again talk to the council they are actually rather good (ask for Arts Development Officer)
  • sakakini jewellers in the Carfax. Beautiful stuff. Also the bonus of seeing the fit bloke in the window making stuff by handruth
  • sakakini jewellers in carfax. Guy who makes stuff in the window is good - think he's the owner
  • Annetts is wicked, opposite ottakars the bookshop
  • a few crystals and horoscope shops up east street if wishing your life away appeals to you ...
  • While you're trekking to the Queen's Head, pop into Crystals in East Street and Feel the Power!
  • Couple of old white biddies selling 'ethnic' art in the market outside MVC.
  • Lots of local artist groups around Horsham. Check out the library for details. Annettes opposite Ottakers book shop is the pretty good if a little compact and twee.
  • Spellcast Stained Glass Studio in Trafalgar Road, everything to do with glass. Regular daytime and evening courses. Hand made unique gifts, all made on the premises by local artists and students.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Horsham. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Horsham.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
