Oxted, Surrey Pubs, Cafes, Coffee Shops and Restaurants

Food

• The most decent resteraunt would proberbly be the Rainbow (Chinese) in Oxted itself but if you have a car then the world is your oyster (I mean there a loads of places)
• JADE GARDEN: Best Chinese takeaway for miles around, good food, good value. Catonnese cuisine. The Rainbow, Chinese Restaurant Station Road East specialises in sea food and has an eat-as-much-as-you-can Buffet on Sunday lunch hours. Come early or book to avoid disappointment.Malaysian chefs, owners Cantonnese. The Golden Palace, Station Road West (opposite the Plaza Cinema) is trad Cantonnese cuisine.
• Nepalese place very good. I've heard good reports about the Chinese on Station Road East (Golden Palace?) - and heard stories that James Major and Emma Noble were spotted there!

Pubs

• The Bull on Limpsfield High Street has a rather attractive menu - but only at lunch times and definitely watch out for the monthly Karaoke!!
• You mentioned four pubs in Old Oxted - what happened to the Wheatsheaf? ( Grotty I know but it is still there and I suppose still being used for profit!!
• I'd vote for the George (Old Oxted) - good beer, good food (in separate restaurant section) - they even have Sky TV now. New Wetherspoon's (next to station) is worth a mention, if only for its prices - it's very popular with just 18s as several of the Old Oxted pubs have a 21 or over policy. And for when summer comes round again, the Beer Garden in the Crown is hard to beat - it's large, green, with climbing frames for the kids and French boules for anyone who wants to play
• The Crown in Old Oxted is the best pub in town with a garden. Ideal for parents and kids alike. Good value BBQ on a Sunday - Top selection of Real Ales
• What about the Bull in nearby Limpsfield High Street?
• The best pub in Oxted is The George, it was originally a scaggy pub, since turned free-house. Serves great food and beer.
• Old Oxted provides a street of four pubs most of which serve excellent food. Go to the Bell for a good night and the Crown (as featured on TV) is haunted.

Cafes and Coffee Shops

• coffe is sick but there are nice tea parlours

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
