Enchanted Wood is excellent if you want to shop for Hello kitty everything it has anything you want in there and if your really desperate some miffy items too. So if your a hello kitty fanatic like moi, then go staright away to Enchanted Wood in the Forum on Devenshire Road.
Rocky Horrors (Also Division st.) sells all kinds of oddities, gothware/clubware etc.
the forum (devonshire green/division st. nr sk8 park) 20 odd(?) shops under 1 roof etc. Sheffields answer to aflex palace.
The mind (charity) shop london rd (+ others on eccelsall rd) - clothing on a budgit. Some real bargins. Jeans from £2:00 T shirts 3 4a£1... (I got a pair of steel toed redwing bike boots for a £5 {rrp £150}
my fave by far is freshmans, retro origionals, its near flares 70s bar. but all up that way and throughout the forum, its brimming with cool.
The Forum
Brother 2 Brother is still Seffields finest
Brother2Brother
the forum, naturally, but rocky horror's great for accessories and makeup, steer clear of fusion, it's overpriced and all the clothes fall to bits! freshman's is better now it's moved, really fancy changing rooms!
rocky horrors is now on devonshire street opposiyte the chip shop and has been there for past 2 years!!!!!!!!!
Rocky Horror shop and Forum best places for alternative clothing
Brother 2 Brother is a rip off!
Anywhere on Division Street!(Especially Frox)
sumo
sushi store
..wot? WELL, oxfam, I suppose
Forum, Devonshire Street. Upstairs- really cool variety- from 60/70`s anything to combats etc... If you want to know whats happening in Sheffield go here.
Rocky Horrors, in Cambridge Arcade, opposite the side entrance to Cole Brothers, it sells clothes records you name it they probably sell it.
Avoid: Meadowhall! A shopping spree with your mates will seem like a good idea at the time, but trust me - you don't want to know.
Forum (various shops) 127, Devonshire Street. The Forum is popular for clothes, posters and music but it is Meta (upstairs) that is the real highlight. Apart from crap legal highs which, in my opinion, taste like fish food, they stock Rizlas of many different types, pipes, bongs, and even digital scales for any budding entrepreneurs out there. Also they stock some of the best hemp magazines available.
Bankrupt Clothing for cheap stuff.
Boatworld.
Pippy's, 41 Cambridge Street (situated opposite Chubby's, listed here under food) - alternative clothing and jewellery - an institution in Sheffield since the early '70s, Pippy's has passed through the ages of kaftans, afghans and biking jackets. Favourite haunt of students, gothics, hippies, Human League, Heaven 17, and just about anybody. Cheap prices and always an experience. Pippys has been closed for some months now. The best alternative shop is called Rocky Horrors just up the road at 20 Cambridge Street. They've got loads of T Shirts leather gear, PVC (my fave you may guess), Jewellery, cd's, and all kinds of drugs related stuff. It's my fave shop in Sheffield so get your list updated. Pippys was always over priced anyway and had a fat miserable owner who drove around in a big Rolls Roycs. I'll tell them in Rockys they may give me some discount.
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)
That nice Wickwire shop in Nether Edge - there is also one in Woodseats now....and a website www.wickwire.co.uk. Great stuff!
A great gift shop in Nether Edge - 'Wickwire' - unusual gifts, great cards and friendly staff.
Easily Sheffields most stylish best and most affordable Silver Jewellery is at POINT 925 in Broomhill. Always stocking new things for you, great presents great service.
There is website that lists contemporary art exhibtions and events in Sheffield - www.artsheffield.org. It's great, as it not only lists exhibitions in large galleries such as the Millennium Galleries, but also shows in pubs, disused warehouses and even on billboards.
Site gallery next door to the showroom but technically in the same building. The only place I think you can see genuine modern art made by contemporary, unknown practicing artists
HOBBY CRAFT IS DA BEST!!
there's a gallery on the top floor of the Sheffield Library next to the Lyceum Theatre.

the botanical gardens! - all else is pseudo
Hibbert Brothers, just next to Tudor Square. Go there NOW!, it is closing down soon, but is a Sheffield institution, even if you don't like the pictures...Also the Ora Gallery at Ecclesall is brilliant for deciding what you're going to buy. When you're very rich.
Try the Lanes at MeadowhEll but, better still, try Pippys in the town centre.
Magazine and Comic Shops
star store (just down from Cole Bros.) all kinds of sci fi ware, great shop.
Sheffield Space Center (the wicker)- great back issues section.
Forbidden Planet (what another one?)- off the moor
Magazines + collectables (or something) Shorham St (by the United ground).- a great one this- loads of old comix from 1970's mayfairs through old marvel + D.C , N.M.E + Sounds of the 70's (sorry) to old newspapers and a million things inbetween. Eratic opening hours (shut when united are @ home?) but great shop
The star store opposite the peace gardens rocks for all things geekey. also Forbidden planet just off the moor.
tHE COMIC EXCHANGE
Forbidden Planet off the High Street. Area 51 and the Last picture Show in Meadowhall. Starstore off the High Street (near Mcdonalds). Small comic shop in BroomHill near the Record Collector and Somerfield.
station wh smiths sells sleazenation
there's only the spar, on ecclesall rd.
Sven is a nifty little porno shop (also on Division St) which may appeal to those unfortunate enough to be too ugly to pull, too poor to pay, or just wanting fetish material etc. It also has been known to stock some great martial arts imports too.
Sheffield Space Centre, 33 The Wicker, Sheffield, S3 8HS. (01742 758905). Legendary anime/manga source.
Nostalgia + Comics, Matilda Street. Good collection of comics and sci-fi stuff.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide.
