  • Buddies is the only place to be seen buying baggy jeans, which must be bought long enough (minimum 3 inches below ground level) for severe tearing and ripping of the bottoms to occur. They also provide a variety of cool hoodies and tops.
  • New Next...........Sports Soccer & Hargreaves had complete refits...........Fenwicks....Savoy Taylors Guild....it all depends on what flicks ure switch
  • Ingear-Quite away along Camden Road, no ones metioned it, its a great shop. Its just like a smaller version of camden market, also near Inskin-very dodgy piercings, dont recommend it unless u want it to get infected.
  • In Gear
  • Fenwicks (for expensive designer labels), Woods opposite Pizza Hut stock Armani and Ted Baker etc. Their are loads of cool skaters shops down Camden Road which also has "In Gear" T.Wells only smoking shop (if you like that sort of thing)!
  • Too many to mention, we do have RVP
  • A good selection of clothing shops for both male, female and children. In RVP theres Next, River Island, Burtons, Top Shop, Oasis, La Senza, Fenwicks, Ciro Cittereo, Blakes and other accessory shops icluding retailers selling jewelery, ties, watches, sunglasses etc. Out side on the old Calverley Road theres New Look and The Officers Store, but if you have a lot of money to spend then you can head down to the old High Street and there you can find a lot of little shops selling designer gear.
  • 1)Fewnwick-way too expensive 2)River Island-please stock longer trousers, we aren't all 5ft models! 3)Top Shop-kinda small, but ok 4)Buddies-WE LOVE YOU!but still kinda expensive!
  • buddies - bad clothes rip off shack -, route one - good clothes rip off shack -

Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

  • theres the tunbridge wells art centre and a cool little shop called "beesknees" which sells loads of crafty things including earrings and beads- me and my friends have so many homemade earrings! theres another actual art shop across the road from that. (cant remember the name :s ) theres a plane/trian/other makeable models shop on upper grosvenor road.
  • south has a gallery upstairs
  • Euca down by Morrisons
  • You can normally pick up some great finds in and around the High Street and Pantiles. They have all these little specialised craft, toy or card shops and again, some great Charity shops. I've found some good CD's in the second Oxfam near the Pantiles.
  • Trinity Theatre is ace.
  • Has anyone been to the Art Gallery next to Laura Ashley in Calverley Road, and does it have a website?? It is owned by an fantastic plant artist? (there is a special name for this, but I cant remember it) Any help please
  • inskin for all your tatooing needs.
  • Get out to the surrounding countryside. Kent is heaving with it!
  • Loads down the Pantiles
  • Trinity is at least something.
  • Assembly Hall has had a massive refurb and has a great line up of shows. Opera is great there - particularly Madame Butterfly - and they bring in the best companies. The bar is pretty swanky now with low lighting. Trinity also worth keeping an eye on, especially the world cinema.
  • The high street is full of art and craft shops
  • The main art gallery next to the museum in the centre is really nice. it's small and you could easily miss it but when you need to escape and fall into another world it really does serve a purpose
  • High Street, funky shops.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Tunbridge Wells. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Tunbridge Wells.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
