Bathgate, Lothian Hookup Spots and Stuff Only Locals Know

Hook-up Spots (That hallowed spot where everyone hangs around with their mates dreaming of the time when they can get into the pubs or clubs - a bench, a corner: you name it.)

• The benches in the steelyard, hundreds of kids have spent numerous nights there with a bottle of buckfast deaming of the future.
• My house!!! its like a brothel but without the ho's....
• West Port Tavern- Simply the best place for reminiscing with the old codgers of the town. Any ex-pats wanting to find out about their local roots need go no further, Tip- Don't drink the beer, its terrible.
• The ENGINE ROOM ,BARRS, BATHGATE INN, has not opened yesterday,but should be open,Council permitting next friday
• Bathgate is also home to Newland Concert Brass, a brass band that plays in the Procession (Bathgate Bairns will know about this) and in ohter local events. They need more players (and money). Contact them via the local paper (Courier) or at the Band Hall, Belvedere Rd.
• When I was at school, the best hook up spot was round the side of the Gym at Bathgate Academy. This spot was affectionately known as the "smokers corner". You can still see the murals on the wall from the days when bands like "Motley Crue" and "Fields of the Nepphilim" were in vogue.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
