Favourite Building
Q E Maridunum is OK. Seriously. It's got a good gym and Foxy is always a good laugh. Bit of a cult of personality around him now in the school.
The Roman Amphitheatre!
It has to be Mc Donalds which opened recently!
The leisure centre
QE Maridunum School Hall, Towy Works
Demolish It Now Building
Bro Myrddin school. The place takes in normal kids and releases them as stuck up, arrogant, stroppy teenagers.
The whole of the town
Has to be the portercabins in Q E Maridunum. They just ruin our rugby games on the yard.
Maridunum school !!!!
Peter Johnsons used car sales
Scout Hut
The Best Things
Friendly people.
Pubs.
Surrounding countryside.
History- the oldest town in Wales.
Sense of belonging.
Merlins Hill- Abergwili for the view.
The Lyric Theatre/Cinema, on the inside
There are no best things about Carmarthen other than that it makes you feel better about every other place in the UK. If you ever have the chance to go DON'T... The place is evil as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather live in Silent Hill.
The best thing about Carmarthen is it's close to other places - Tenby, Swansea, Pembroke, the sea, etc.
There are no best things. I'll be honest, Carmarthen is complete pants. There's nothing to do except drink, and that's all everyone does. All the blokes think they're rock hard and are obsessed with fighting. There is so much bad attitude in Carmarthen, I blame Bro Myrddin.
Going out with your mates to the Vaults, followed by the Jolly Tar and Waterside.
The way St.Davids hospital lets all the patients wonder around town without supervision. Such a great source of free entertainment.
There's not much to do in Carmarthen apart from getting pissed, so the locals are usually very happy, friendly people.
The art college means that there are a lot of young people who are a bit 'different', this adds a bit of spice to the town.
The pubs and clubs have good atmospheres which make for a great night out.
The lesire centre, the amount of family i have here, The large number of pubs
Great place fo gays (not!!!)Nice rugby boys!! I like
The Worst Things
King Street- needs some money spent on it to attract new businesses.
Lack of things to do for the kids.
Empty shop units in Cambrian Way- these 2 units let the whole arcade down.
Lack of full time employment.
Council- refusing to listen to the younger people of Carmarthen and for refusing to let Wetherspoons open a pub in King St.
Where do we start? The fact that there's nowhere to go unless you like music that sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies backing a car alarm... The ignorant drunken locals? Violent braindead nationalists who speak a great deal about the oppression Wales has suffered under England but haven't even been granted IQ's high enough to read a book and FIND OUT about it...? Perhaps that being a 300lb fat Rugbyboy moron that can down 15 pints before each brawl will get you praise anywhere, and pry open the legs of any of the "Shapely lasses" (pregnant pigs also have shapes.) in this quaint little hell.
Or maybe that it was ever built. Sometimes I wonder if it ever was, or whether it's just some kind of terrifying group hallucination. Some of the locals can't be real.
People getting at the farms around Carmarthen. Most of us keep CATTLE, you know - cows. Not sheep. LEARN THE DIFFRENCE!
To many things to mention - Farmers mainly, and rugby boys
Everything. A lot of the people. The lack of anything to do. The nightlife. The weather. Bro Myrddin. Farmers. Sheep. Everything.
Everything
Townies shouting at "hambones" 'cause we live in the village. Don't worry as most of them are alright it's only one or two idiots you'll meet.
Farmers/hambones & rugby boys, they're everywhere, you can't get away from them no matter how hard you try!!!Urgh!
The rain and having to go to work
The older people who live here can be very old fashioned and closed minded and set in their ways. But luckily they don't usually see what you get up to on a night out.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Carmarthen.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
