• Me old Brynteg Welsh skool teacher, Mr Powel decided he couldn't handle us kids and 'apparently' had a nervous breakdown or something. Who would have throught he was the guitarist from Catatonia! He claimed insanity to get huge compensation from the skool to start the band. Won't forgive him for the years of Welsh supply teachers (AND MRS DEVIL... aka KNOTT) or my fecking 'E' at GCSE. Pha

• Thomas Sinnott alledgedly lives in a cave in Pontycymmer. It is apparently a Church, rumoured to have been used by Jesus during his visit to Wales two weeks before delivering the Sermon on the Mount. Thomas' ancestors wrote out the entire speech on a stone for Jesus to memorize and claim as his own. Unfortunatly, the Beatitudes were not copyrighted by the Sinnotts (N.B, this is a total and utter lie made up by a complete WANKER!!!)

• Faces you seen down town EVERY time: Emma B, Andrew Dalton, Rob and Kelvin, Phillip Jenkins, Seymour, Sax Wally, Carl and Steve, Anesha, James Orpin, Byron Brain who is the most ridiculed guy on the dancefloor next to that creepy lank with the big lips in Astons club. Lookalikes: The tosser who manages the Garden shop up the Pines looks like George Lucas. Archie McGrath teacher Mrs. Gordon looks like an elderly Sandi Toksvig off Call My Bluff. Andrew Jimson looks like a sumo wrestler, only fatter. Lynn Phillips from Maesteg looks exactly like Harold from Neighbours. A bloke made a complaint in Prices Candles when the staff ridiculed him for looking like Chris Evans. He did, though.
• The music teacher at Brynteg is now in Catatonia. Cool calm Class Act Carl of Archie McGrath will definitely be the name on everyone's lips in the future
• Jeff Vines.... kinda wannabe.. star of stage screen adn Gymnasium Phil Jones.... host his band Sex... legend in his own lunchbox CarolAnne Salmon.... pobl Y Cwm Type... FLora Ad....Ready Brek Ad... The snow spider... ahhh childhood memories Huw Carredig..... another pobl Y Cwm type Aneeka Rice was from Cowbridge!

• Tom Jones lives/lived up the road in Cowbridge. Occasionally seen drinking in the Bear Hotel in Cowbridge.
• J PR Williams, one of best rugby players world has ever seen, is doctor in Princess of Wales hospital.

Buskers, Street Entertainers

• there is a man who sits in the walkway with a guitar.
• Iolo's jewellry shop on the old stone bridge. An awesome guitarist and a mini celebrity in Bridgend, since he seems to know everyone and is so easy going.
• There is one Busker who makes me laugh!!He plays the guitar,BUT he's also a taxi driver and a security guard!!He's Huge(with a goaty!!)
• OOOOh Lordy. Watch out for Emma Lord on the streets of Bridgend. Great fun!
• Get them working. In Prisons!
• There is nearly always that guy in Brackla arcade and hes cool , all the others should prehaps find other things to do .

• No-one can compete with the piped music in The Rhiw these days. However, I remember Kenny-Lee Miller performing there as part of a duo some years before before they refurbished it. Fantastic version of 'Bird Dog', I must say.
• Street entertainers? There's a breakdancing bloke to be seen wandering around the place. He doesn't busk, or interact with other humans.

• If youre looking for entertainment then you can't get much better than old Ivor Beecham, The pigeon eater Long may he rest in peace.
• Bridgend College Performing arts students.... always hanging around with guitars trying to make their grant grow
• There's a bloke who can't sing who hangs out in the arcade by Peacocks with two flea-eaten dogs. I'll give him a fiver to go home.
• That bloke with the guitar who sits outside NatWest is really good (the one with the far-away look in his eyes)

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
