Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains

  • Liquid is good, Bentalls isn't too bad. Top Shop for the essentials. But let's face it Bracknell Town Centre couldn't be more crap if it tried. Still maybe in another 10 years the town centre will get redeveloped... oh sorry...is it being done now? We hadn't noticed.
  • Bentalls, they should blow that overpriced townie lump of cack up as well!
  • ooo... new look! topshop! tammy! (yup im being sarcastic!) once again if u wanna go shopping then dont come to bracknell. its shite
  • new aLLSPORTS in princess square sum nice stuff there.
  • Crap selection of shops
  • Awful. Go to Reading or Windsor.
  • Plenty of options for the Bracknell slapper. Anyone that wishes to dress with a slight degree of class may wish to take a short car/bus/train journey to Reading.
  • Ann Andrews use to be the most trendy shop in town in the late 60's early 70's
  • Top Man Burtons
  • What ever happened to all the big stores we were promised by BFBC????? Hello councillors we are still waiting???? perhaps the back handers haven't materialised yet then!!!!
  • Bracknell gets as trendy as your local Topman shop, but if you like department stores, there's Bentalls.
  • None - It's ok if you are age 10 - 19 and are a size 6, if you're middle - aged but still consider yourself trendy you have to go to Reading, Kingston or Guildford. Come on BFBC get your fingers out and entice some proper shops, Lord knows we've been waiting 30 odd years!
  • Oxfam, Sue Rider, etc, etc. These shops obviously supply the more loyal Bracknell residents. The ones whom still live in piss tainted flats and earn less than 15k (PER YEAR RICH GUYS).
  • What clothes shops? - God help you if you are aged between 30 - 50 but still like to keep up with a modicum of fashion!!!!
  • I think we definitely need to get rid of all the "We have really cheaply made clothes at cheap prices that shrink after the first wash" type clothes shops. A decent Levi shop wouldn't go amiss. May I say that Bentalls has a great clothes section with top quality names like Urban Stone, FCUK, Ted Smith and er.....Joe Bloggs *ahem*.
  • The best place to get clothes in Bracknell is Reading.
  • Yeah, if you are into sports wear !
  • Well Guildford is pretty straightforward to get to from Bracknell…
  • There's top shop, tammy and new look. Wow! You're better off in Reading mate, come and see me in my natural habitat!
  • Go to Kingston.
  • Check out Bentalls for Ben Sherman, Levi's, Calvin Klein, Yves Saint-Laurent and more.

Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

  • South Hill Park and Bracknell and Wokingham College run lots of drama and arts courses. You can learn to do anything from silver smithing to performing arts.
  • SOUTH HILL PARK and occasionally Newbold college in Binfield
  • If cheap clothes from india is a craft, then we have multiple shops selling them! I think South Hill Park is very arty and crafty but never been. Not a very cultured town.
  • there is no art gallery in monkey trading as they were so bad they got kicked out
  • Holme Grange, between bracknell and wokingham did have pretty good art gallery and craft shops, but i hear the circus shop shut down :( South Hill Park has art on display including sculpture and jewellery. They recently had stuff on display by David thingy...the gay artist who has pictures in Tate modern of young men diving into swimming pools..sorry can't think of his surname. Cracking stuff though. Prints from his student days based on old fairy stories and folk tales.
  • Bracknell is becoming less of a cultural wsteland. As well as South Hill Park Arts Centre for just about everything, there are now two new galleries in the town centre that sell original artwork. "The Bracknell Gallery" is a community gallery focusing on amateur art and hobbyists and "Art and Sole", the Bracknell art gallery that offers affordable contemporary art by professional artists. Both Galleries are in Charles Square, Bracknell. "Art and Sole" is located upstairs in "Monkey Trading", a great gift shop that's just won some award for being the best of it's kind in the country.
  • Bracknell town centre now has two new art galleries, one very amateur gallery hidden away in Bracknell chiropody clinic and one selling some interesting and unusual stuff by professional artists. The second one is upstairs in 'Monkey Trading', which is by that fountain clock in Charles Square.
  • south hill park has art galleries. it is the best place in bracknell for alot of things. best place to drink, see bands, e.t.c
  • southill
  • Holme grange farm, just outside Bracknell in Wokingham has a craft shop, art gallery and cafe, a few animals around for lil kiddies too
  • South Hill Park, the pretentiousness I can live with but the beer is too expensive. And don't you find the people that keep coming out with French expressions are so bloody Blase'
  • South Hill Park. Pukka for Comedy Club and other events.
  • South Hill Park is cool. But shame it's in the middle of 'Racknell
  • Naughty but nice does great bongs. and body jewellery
  • South Hill Park. Anything arty is here, and many craft fair's. Check out the bull in the wall!
  • South Hill Park Arts Centre is cool!
  • Well...there is the splendour of Bracknell Market. If you are after antique chairs, beutifully woven fabrics, tasty home-made cakes and quaint decorations...then this is not the place for you. However..if you are after a pair of cheap Levi's with holes in, a computer game that dates back to the early 80's, a pirate copy of "Debbie Does Dallas The Revenge" or some greasy, out of date fish..then you need look no further than Bracknell Market. "Harahhh".
  • SOUTH HILL PARK, the place 2 B
  • Check the middle of Princess Square for loads of little arty farty stalls selling straw dolls, far-out jewellery and other stuff like that.

Magazine and Comic Shops

  • Porn! Available at any Alldays, Garage etc...
  • Reading
  • WH Smiths JW Smiths Cheneys
  • newsagents? theres bloody loads of them.
  • Can i recomend the little corner shop next to Holly House remand centre, it stock's all your favorite top shelf title's.
  • If only. Still it's only a whole bloody hour to Waterloo on the train.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Bracknell. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Bracknell.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
