One of the best kite flying and kite buggying areas in the West of London is pretty much unknown to most but can be found at Warren Farm sports grounds along Syon Lane. Syon Lane is found South of Uxbridge Road just before the Iron Bride (If travelling West) follow the turning over the Three Bridges and straight on over the mini roundabout. 150 yards on teh left theres a lay-by and the entrance to the grounds is here.
KITE BUGGYING - There are very few areas in the West of London that are as exposed as the plateau that makes up Warren Farm playing fields. Great views of jets coming into land at Heathrow make for a great backdrop to flying kites. Its ideal for parakarting, near uninterupted clean Westerly wind, particularly in the change over between Cricket and Football seasons - no nets. Speak to the grounds man, he's cool, and watch out you dont get locked in after dark. I've ben flying there for 3 years and not a single bit of bother.
Old Actonians RFC - www.oldactoniansrfc.com. Looking to play serious rugby? Or just want to play a sociable game and enjoy and few beers? Old Actonians is one of the few Clubs that caters for both needs. We have great facilities and put out four sides out each Saturday and there`s always a drink or two in the Club bar after the game, as well as a number of unmissable social events every season.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
