Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars

  • mount everest
  • If you want any sort of club, we only possess the one, and that's only a mockery of what you can find in the bigger cities.
  • Rock City you have to travel to Notts
  • It's worth hangin back in the dennys till the regular weekenders have moved on. Then you get to hear some crackin older stuff.
  • the only decent ones are in mansfiield, liquid (it costs and you queaue for hours though)and lexis is annoying as its constantly full with kids, thinking they can handle their drink. Coyote bars good though (kinda based on the film, (coyote ugly)
  • LEXIS RULES LIQUID IZ 4 BUMMERS
  • Sunday night in Sutton is alive with music played in most of the pubs (good night out)
  • mansfield - lexis, palais altho i dont advise it as u might get a punch 4 looking at somone funny!
  • Clubs...theres the 'ill have a piss in this doorway while my missus folds her arms to hide her nip on after 11pm club' theres the ' fuck the traffic im invicible club' oh yeahh and im far too overweight so im going to wear a lycra dress with big pants and go braless so my saggy tits will distract the taxi drivers club'
  • None here, most go to Lexis in Mansfield (or Limo's if they can't get in)
  • No clubs in Sutton. -The Diamond is abit like one, but only go on Friday nights! Go to Mansfield for clubs
  • Anne's line dancing club is magic
  • Formally one which lasted a couple of months. Now a Weatherspoons pub.
  • One very crap one. Try Ten at Mansfield.
  • one did open at the old house but closed after about 3months even after advertising (in the end)free admission with reduced beer prices.Try Mansfields The Yard and Ten (a bus ride away 65p return if you tell them your still at school)
  • theres the new `PICTURE HOUSE ` night club but its a bit rough a mate of mine got beat up for looking at someone funny
  • Ha, ha, ha. Try Mansfield.

Live Music Venues

  • Jimbo's 'ous
  • Sometimes venture to the town mill chicago in mansfield is crap and the music is for the 40 plus. I prefer the indie scene - venture to Notts regular. The Embace concert at Sherwood Pines in Aug was Fab!
  • The Diamond usually have some fairly poor local bands playing. If you'd rather save your money for a worthy cause, such as a charity, then don't bother going. I'd prefer to deafen myself with knitting needles than listen to their inane warblings.
  • The Town Mill-Mansfield The Diamond(awesome tribute bands)
  • nottingham is the closest place to sutton that any moderately big band will dare to stray...rock city is generally your best bet
  • Currently have just started a guitar school For all ages, electric, bass or acoustic lessons. From Jazz to nu-Metal All levels in mansfield area. Having just moved here from the City, I am a professional musician with over 5 years teaching experiance, excellent rates special discounts for bulk bookings!!!.Looking for pupils to start 2005 and i would like to encourage anyone willing to learn this wonderfull instrument.Contact me curt@ghostpromotions.com
  • Sutton Town Social Club is startin to rival the diamond!
  • probably nottingham
  • The Diamond on Stoney St,Sutton. They have great tribute bands on every Friday and Saturday night.
  • the mill
  • gotta be the dirty diamond, all the wanna be bands play there every frday!
  • VENUE 44 (AINT THERE THO)
  • Most of the local bands play or practise at home or there use to be a rehersal room next to Suuton Centre School.Did you know that a band called "Ten Years After came from Sutton & Kirkby & they were bigger than the "Beatles" in America,(have a look in a search engine just put thier band name in.)
  • Ashfield show altho i wouldnt get ur hopes up over the "rip-off" wannabe's
  • sutton lawn hosts sum stuff! keep yr ears open for small gigs at pubs etc! but u really shud try nottingham
  • Sutton Centre...some nights Shite
  • Gigs at various pubs. Visit Sutton Centre music block on a friday night to listen to "Poodlewig" rehearse, an up and coming band (when they turn up to gigs!)
  • Aurora, 2001, a space oddyssey, oh, well, that's Huthwaite, but, never mind!
  • None worth going to in Notts period, except Rock City Nottm.
  • A few of the pubs have live bands but they're usually well dodgy.

Cinemas

  • hypermobility-poo
  • The odeon in Mansfield!
  • Mansfield ABC or is it Canon now?
  • 5 mile out & can't have a fag. Better to wait 6 week for the DVD
  • closest ones in mansfield
  • THE OLD PORTLAND CINEMA IN THE 40'S, MANAGER ALBERT HALL. I REMEMBER A SINGLE LEMON BEING RAFFLED OFF THERE TOO SUPPORT THE WAR EFFORT, ONE OLD PENNY A TICKET, IREMBER IT WAS A JOHNNY WEISSMULLER TARZAN FILM THAT WAS SHOWING.
  • mansfield cinema, which gets boring after a while.
  • mansfield ow and by the way mc arther glen aint in mansfield! its closer to derby then anywhere!
  • this is a one horse town - we did have one in the 70's where i saw the exocist but that was bulldozed for kwik save
  • Nearest is at Mansfield but at one time we had the "Portland on Oats Hill (its now gone but it use to be where the new Halfords shop is),"The Kings" on King Street (its now withersppons & called "The Picture House") & one on Outram Street called "The Tivolli" (now its Robertsons furniture store)But hey "SKY" is here.
  • odean or abc or who ever owns it these day?
  • Cinema is now Wetherspoons
  • Mansfield cinema cool...best thing for ages
  • Tuesday nights at the Mansfield ABC is cheaper.
  • None, ABC Mansfield.
  • There's a very good cinema in Mansfield. The closeness of Mansfield means that Sutton sometimes gets overlooked for things like cinemas and the like.
  • Mansfields far enough to spend £2.50 on a film.
  • None left. All shut down years ago.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Sutton in Ashfield. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Sutton in Ashfield.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
