What about the group called "Ten Years After" who were more famous than the Beatles in America (put thier group name into a search engine & see).
Horace Burrows played for Notts County, I believe, and in the early 1950s, his shop used to be on the opposite side of Outram Street.
Dunno, but an ex-world darts champion was from nearby (oh, and myself of course ;-) )

The shop on Outram Street which has been there for as long as I can remember which is called Horace Burrows, was apparently founded many years ago by this man who was a professional footballer, so I've been told. But I cannot find out which team he played for.Anyone out there know?

What about Gavin Abbot ex Ashfield pupil who was recently seen in Catherine Cooksons Tilly Trotter? He's from the Ashfield area. Also Ian Peck From Kirkby
seen in A Touch of Frost with the adorable David Jason. Sutton is a breeding ground for tv stars!

we havent got n e buskers yet, thats the next step. entertainment - watching ppl out their heads. Watch the smack heads trying to rob ya!
The bloke with the electronic keyboard and the dog, who you used to play outside the Idlewells Centre. I went to Torquay a couple of years ago, and there he was on the seafront. Same keyboard, same dog!
Theres lots of scruffs and smack-heads around here.
