Skateboarding Spots
Skaters carpoark...mmm... The carpark next to Queen's park. We had a flat near there above nick humphries which nearly became a cultural hangout in itself. And I wonder if the Beehive Derby still happens. Race in pairs and skate down the Beehive Lane carpark ramps.
Lots of places on campus.
bulreigh school....great to piss off the security guards!!!!
skate park in southfields is kinda crap, but probably the best in lough. leicester's better.
Loughborough Uni is good if you like to skate and get a good chase... one spot in particular at far end of the uni near burleigh and ashby road there are some huge banks. just walk around the uni you will find somthing
underground car park near somerfield - proper oldscool
Burliegh CC but beware security
try some indoor carparks, the ramps and bumps at the somerfield one make it pretty cool, beware, it locks up at 7!
Southfields park.
Marble bench near curzon cinima
Cinima stairs!!
Burleigh college, Garendon etc
Beehive lane carpark- fun when wet
william davis 6 just by queens and that massive church and the tennis. lit up when dark. nice pot. kfc 9 , coltex house walls just beyond the big w and all that ,
if u go through the tunnel at the park u will see a hump nerxt to the leisure center which i good for flip tricks there is also a spot that we waked up which i ok for reverts, powerslids and remos etc...
The uni is sweet but u get kicked off ,lots of stairs ledges and a couple of handrails. If you go down there u u mite see the garendon guys.southfields sux ass coz now in the winter its way to wet, we used to hang around there but now its gay.the church near garendon is amazing probley my fav spot coz its just steps steps steps.buleigh s cool with a few nice fours and stuff and theres a eight set there .the new rushes centre is good it has a 3 set 2 set four set a wall gap and in a couple of weeks time near bonkers there is gonna be a cool gap,but u get kicked off there.we used 2 hang around granby and queenys with all the old skaters and get drunk but now nobody goes there, there is a big five set at the mueseum i like them but now they have shortend the run up.my dad said there used to be a concrete park at southfields but the covered it over.
Southfields
The spot at southfields now has an okay halfpipe and a ramp before the fun box, its not great but better
southfields is not a crappy park, its small yeah but its better than nuthing and now its been done up in wood instead of metal its better. its wat u make of it. bs and fs boardslide, bs and fs lipslide, noseslide, nollie lipslide, fakie lipslide, 5050, 5-0, salad (possible), bluntslide, kickflips everywhere, krooked, 180 nosegrind, i got close to a fakie feeble once, feeble, smith, theres loads to do on the rail u just gotta find it, as for the mini, hard to learn on but gd wen u get it. its pretty sick wen u find things to do. it aint that shitty. try it out
Fairfield is gettin hot man, Jez is being done for trespass and crim damage!
the university is a great place to skate loads of stairs and hand rails to ledges and cheap beer, but watch out for security. Although a funny chase it can be anoying unless youre a student then they don't mind. you might even see greg jew famouse for playing whith his draydel.
different skaters go to different places, try opposite the coffee pot for some more urban ones, then theres southfields that has about 8 people who actually skate the ramps, the half pipe was extended so its used more, some people go to quorn to their half pipe, its deadly like the one in shepshed, which has a bmx trak too, then theres bigger ones in leicester and of course Derby Storm
SOUTHFIELDS PARK it might not seem much but its what you make of it
Outside the EHB steps
bein a concerned 14 yr old (ha) who hasn't a clue how to use the internet so im sorry if this messagey thing is goin to the wrong place erm where the hell did the rush go??? that baldy guy with the beard is well fit.
The Skatepark In Southfields, Which Has Just been done up Features a 4 1/2 Foot High (roughly) Mini Ramp Which Is Rather nice, Also With A flatbank into the funbox with a double rail, also with some weird step things that are pointless
At the back of the college is a wall with a rail wedged on top handcrafted by some skatin sculpture students at the uni.good for bladers
***erm there regular is...southfields skate park is utter shit its a great place just to do a few tricks and met up with friends and find sum other places. skaters also hang out by the pay loo at granby street..dont know why but theres also a big crowd. Also by the new estate up by woodbrook high skool. thers always the usuals there.
New small skate park - Southfields park. Launch ramp, grind rail and funbox.
BMX SPOTS- METAL LEGDE NEAR FERRARI GARAGE, NOTTINGHAM ROAD. HAVE A NICE CHAT WIV BLOKE FROM SUNNYSIDE HOTEL HE HE HE
TESCO RAILS
SAINSBURYS BANKS
SOUTHFIELDS LUMP OF METAL (IF U DON'T MIND KILLING YOUR SELF)
THE BENCH, NANPANTAN ROAD
CLAYHILLS TRAILS
COLLEGE
UNIVERSITY (KICKS ASS)
RAIL BEHIND COLLEGE
KFC- IF U WANNA GET MUGGED
IT'S ALL PRITTY RANK.
southfeilds park in the town centre has the smallest sk8 park in briton (steel fun box, pathetic rail and a kind of bank thing with coaping down the sides.cheers for nothing loughborough council...........but watch this space....if any cares). oh the college is sweet to sk8 in but be on your toes..
Some skaters hang round Queens park and the car park next to it. Also you can usually find some at Sothfields skate park (it's shit).
There's a new ramp in southfiels park.
The new skate thingy in southfields is in fact, a waste of time. There's a weird fun box, tiny rail and a weird wallride style ramp... £10,000 my ass...
Burleigh / Garendon is a cool spot, loads of stairs, ledges and benches..
Cobden school is often overlooked but it has quite a few benches, nice long wall, and a couple of steps...
The new KFC / shopping centre place is cool, although the floor is bricked (probably to stop skateboarders) but it's still quite skateable...
The library isn't bad, watch out for psychotic librarians...
If you are lookin for a really good place to have a fag and a skate with some cool people, rawlins community college is best place, the boarders hang around there on fridays and it rules.they've always got some gring rails there or something. But if your lookin to score with the skaty chicks, there all taken!
Skaters Carpark methinks will be getting a new name. the corner of the carpark next to Queens park affectionally referred to as the aforementioned name is in danger of being eclipsed by its newest arrival. the amazing porta loo. it speaks and shoots water, all for the bargain price of twenty pence. so whos off skating down by the loo?
Granby st car Park has one huge waxed curb one small waxed curb and tons of skaters sesh it everynight including Duncan from the rush, Ash, Both the Jaggers dan brown McCarthy. And Tons Of others who I can't remember right now apart from us younguns like Me dan wright tim culling Lee Cook and also it is a great meeting place for all us Guys and Gals. Also there is the new regents place shoppin centre with a double wide curb for boardslides 9 stairs to olly (fuck they are Rad) I have only ried these twice to date cuz they are scary as Fuck. The graveyard near the three nuns lots of slanted gravestones to wall ride.
the locals are some serious hard core mothers (see local heros) which is suprising as there's an OBVIOUS LACK of skate spots. years of promises of a skatepark from the local council are still to come to fruition (but they'll spent 20k on a bronze sculpture!).
barclaey block is a fun little ledge, but i fear for its safety after seing surveyers nearby!
skate the university hard and get chased off by security 5 minutes later.
Beacon Bingo Steps
Sainsburys has a few rails as do most car parks.
Low rails outside Tesco Superstore.
Sainsburys, waxed curb, set of three stairs, and strange set of four stairs at front, nice steep wall-ride type banks. Sainsburys is the best. Perfect floor for kick-flips the lot. Jumping over trolleys.
Fairfields School (next to grammar school) well rad - Low benches, lots of kickers, picnic tables, the dogs bollox! Bit of a twat around to get in though.
Mainly RS in leicester is where i get decks and stuff, its the best place in general.
Irish!
notts
try go nottingham or go to Rollersnakes in leicester
NO SHOPS!!! go to leicester to get stuff! theres casino and rollersnakes (RS) litterally next to each other
go to charterhouse n buy fred flinstone t shirts n american football shirts n airwalk trainers with a bum bag.
there was the rush in loughborough but thats been shut down now. i go to casino for my stuff now. i used to go to rs but i got tired of it and the service in casino is sick, the ppl there r well safe. as for conflict, ok but no way near as good as casino. plus u get free stickers! nething free is good.
go to Derby to "twentyFour" it used to be called "the curve" down Sadlergate, its a skate shop, it also sponsers some top skaters
Herbies Hanger
The Rush
i think Irish is quoite good - they have surf clothes too - but they're pretty expensive. Probably better goin to Leicester or Notts
***well theres the rush and erm...the rush :( The rush is ok its more for surfing and snowboarding. They can order skateboards in though. There pretty helpful so just go straight in and ask.
the rush sk8 shop in the rushes(alright duncan)
The rush have a good selection of decks, trucks, wheels etc, plus it sells snowboard gear. It also sells skate shoes, hoods, belts and hats. Word of warning though. Expensive.
Surf & Board (extreme sport) shop on The Rushes - also Council have built ramps and other skaty goodies outside their offices on Southfields Park.
The Rush is worth visiting, overpriced maybe, but the man behind the counter is a corker
The only skate shop is the rush, and it's damn expensive, try RS in leicester
Theres the Rush up by the Ozzie pub, skate and snow shop but so expensive cause skating is immensely specialist around loogabrooga. You can pick up an Eclipse bomber jacket for around £2.99 down town though.
there is a skate shop of sorts on the rushes. i think it claims to be one of those "lifestyle" places. anyway, the guy who works there is both cool and hot, for a puff (some would say).
There are always loads of no life tossers in the car park in the middle of town
( what is it about the 'super loo'? )
no skate board shops in loughbrough which is pretty shit!
There is a snowboard / clothes type shop called The Rush (On The Rushes) which is really cool and it sells skateboards. The Rush is a Surf and snow shop, but it sells skate stuff (F?*!ing expensive). Non-stop in Nottingham, and Casino and Snakes in Leicester.
