Hookup Spots
- University Parks are beautiful in summer.
- Uni Parks is a pretty little spot to spend the summer.
- Few benches in Oxford. This is a good thing. It means inbreeding takes place away from public view.
- the canal
- gloucester green...why does eveyone go there? theres nothing to do, especially in the evening, but theres always some funny drunks to watch...:)
- just a thing about tiger lily, i didnt know where else to write it, its not just goth, it covers an alternative scene based on many types of music, goths are just a small group of many who come to the shop, and its more about bands, bongs and more importantly the piercing studio and the jewellery!
- Christ Church Meadows...Odeon cinemas on George Street and Magdalen Street. Basically, afew places in the town centre, otherwise, not much really.
- Carfax (the intersection of High, Cornmarket, St. Aldate's, and Queen's Streets). Very handy for Cashpoints.
- Florence Park in Cowley was my haunt for many a year - Its a nice place to walk around, especially in Summer as it is well looked after and the gardens always look nice. You can have a spot of Tennis on Mini Golf, watch the bowls (If your into that kind of thing!)
- In the queue for the Purple Turtle--this counts because the majority of the time you don't get in and end up going back to college and drinking in someone's room.
- Gloucester Green night or day - near the cinema, Cult Clothing etc. pleanty of places to sit (ie. steps, outdoor cafes)+is near to main streetz.
- McDonalds in Cornmarket. Completely shrouded by ikkle yoofs on a saturday/sunday. Practically everyone who meets someone in Oxford, meets them outside McDonalds like it has a big magnetic pull or something. Bonn Square for all the bums/winos/gippos. HMV used to be a hang out spot but strangely no-one does anymore. Carfax is a dossabout place too, for all those failed attempts to get on a Blackbird Flyer for free ;) (why dont you just pay your pound eh?!). Gloucester Green - now I dont know why people do but they tend to hang around this place, it has absolutely nothing interesting at all except the fact that you can escape to London for less than a tenner or anywhere else. The city planners seriously need to do something about this area its so dull...how about some nice street cafes/bars open till late to bring the area to life (at night especially) instead of leaving it desilate slab of concrete covered with puke, kebab papers, tramps and p*ss head townies.
- That's got to be Cornmarket right in the centre. Mind you, a lot of the kids who hang there are foreign students. In the Second World War American soldiers used to go there and pick up girls. Then they would take them down the nearby alley called Golden Cross - but then known as 'Fornication Alley'. Just imagine.
- Christ Church Meadows is the best place for an after work beer on a summers evening.
Wellington Square is nice in the afternoons.
University Parks are perfect for chilling in the summertime.
The steps of the Sheldonian theatre on Broad street.
- Top of South Park over looking the city
- Hmm tricky one probably Carfax
- Aristotle Lane Playground
- Carfax - benches to sit on, phoneboxes to phone the person who's stood you up
- Somewhere near the coach station? Cheap places to eat and drink nearby.

What is Knowhere?
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
