  • Dr Funkenstein now has a cool upstairs department! Use it or lose it!
  • Some nice exclusive shops away from the usual names such as H&M etc - such as Eleven, Gate, Van Mildert etc
  • Try the shops in John Street, a bit more individual than JJB Sports
  • hot rats
  • sunderland is shit and stinks...lots of love, newcastle:)
  • The Roy Castle Foundation Shop
  • Maverick was in the times of Noah, belive me there is alot more shops now, River Island is in the Bridges, we have a Van Mildert, West 1, H+M etc there has been a massive refurbihment and there is now alot more variety.
  • Sunderland has alll the usual, Topshop H&M etc plus theres a TRIPLE S opening soon!!!!!!!!!!
  • we have many clothes shops. Some are owned by ultra-hip fashion nazis, whose haircuts and jeans cost at least £200. They're of the totally air headed and self involved group of sinister trendies who are invading every city centre nationwide. help.
  • Gotta be 53rd 'n 3rd on Derwent street. Fab punky threads. Customj gear, Lip Service etc. Class.
  • Topshop, H&M, USC, Debenhams, Republic and River Island

But choose wisely! on all occasions girls your belly must hang over your skirt!

  • TRACKIES,TRACKIES,TRACKIES IF THATS WHAT YOUR INTO.
  • The usual, gap, debenhams, river island etc. Clothes shopping is quite good at the recently expanded Bridges, although you have a lot of slow walkers in there so don't expect to be able to shop in a hurry!
  • Again jst ur average mainline stuff, not really worth a mention ... unless your into pink lycra (as many ov our city are!) if so, try the classy Blanford street with its many quality good stores contained within!
  • I wouldn't dare! Cheep and nasty is the name of the game. Apert from sports shops who do a roring trade! but bare in mind these people have never done a days sport in their lives!
  • Where the whole population get there gear - McGirks Sports (or the Sunderland afc shop)
  • hot rats
  • If ya like ya names and are a cool teen tracksuit wearing hard cunt the best place I would reccomend is "Sports Connection" always gettin new gear in and if ya on a tight budget (student) ya cant beat "H&M" its cheap 'n' cheerful. But if you are a smart posh twat with a hefty bank balance I reccomend "APHRODITE" on vine place next to TK MAX<-(keep away from there its full of factory regects).

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Sunderland. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Sunderland.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
