• Sala cvlasses evry Thursday - Golden Lion Line Dancing classes every Tuesday 8 - 9 pm in the Town Hall
• well there are right royal piss ups in the dodgy seventies haven of the Golden Lion Bar and the Bay Horse to the accompaniment of anything from Elvis to current pop hits Outside of town there's a place called the Lanterns which has surprisingly good nights sometimes
• Ashburton now has a trendy venue in The Lanterns, a "family" pub with 200-300 capacity hall on side. They've hosted John Martyn, Loop Guru., Gong etc etc recently - but for individual gigs rather than the club policy of Exeter's Cavern.

• Lanterns - (01364) 652697 3/4 nights live music with national bands. Golden Lion - (01364) 652205 also home of the Monster Raving Loony Party Victoria Inn (01364) 652402 - Live entertainment Saturdays, Blus Grass/Folk/jam session every Thursday.
• See above, either bad pub bands in the Golden Lion or the odd dub gem at Lanterns
• Althought not s true music venue, in the first week of July Ashburton holds a carnival week with events such as ale tasting and bread weighing, tug of war, talent night and a grand carnival procession on the Saturday.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
