Inside Information
- Southsea skatepark is the only place to hook up with skateboarders in portsmouth, if you do else where it might be a flook!
- Baffins Court after hours - has no skateboarding sign - always a good mark of a good boarding spot.
- The Rock Gardens. Near to the Pyramids swimming pool. Great hangout for the "alternative" people.
- The excellent Gunwharf Quays or Commercial Road. Southsea seafront & the common are great in the summer.
- Got to be the Guildhall steps, that place halfway between Pubs and Clubs, and Shops . .oh yeah
- In front of the old Odeon cinema in north end.
- The benches by the skatepark!!! Great for checking out whos around and easy to see whos coming from all angles.
- Castle field, with a ball and guitar.
- The best place to hook-up is the red, though this is all but useless to skate now because of fucking bmxers and binliners (bandits). If you want a street session then search the suburbs around the guildhall. The banks there are pretty sweet and by the guildhall carpark there is a section with a few sensible stair sets. Otherwise portsmouth is pretty barren for street spots.
- Hottest spot in Summer is the Official Nudist Beach, Eastney end by caravan park. Don't worry you won't be shocked by accident well signposted.
- *Tricorn car park is a ok place to hang around but only if your a townie grungers are never welcome there and never will be !
*maccy D's just down commercial road near one legged jockey the grunge shop
*Milton park loadsa townies
*the beach
*youth clubs dotted around everywhere
- A great hook up spot in Pompey if ya jus want to skate and stuff is the N.C.P which is situated in North End just behind woolworths and cash converters!!!! There is a really nice waxed curb for bladers. There is also a couch in the middle of the car park so just bring ya cider and ya boom box!!!!!!
- Eastney nudist beach- great for hooking up
- Southsea Skateboard Park, or the Pyramids, or Southsea Fair
- Baffins Pond Play Area.....ahhh the conker trees.......
- Having recently visited Pompey form my home in S.Wales, and being an old resident
of the City, I was delighted to see not many changes in the 30 years since I left. The people are still very friendly, the sea so blue, and the air so fresh, and so much to see and do. Why,I ask myself do not more people visit?
I would move back to Pompey tommorow!.
- Commercial Road Fountain! EEEEEeeeK!!!
- the best hook-up spot is the cashiers in tesco's.
- Guildhall square, Bored Store skate shop- 97 elm grove soutsea 01705 426388
- Hook up with locals some Tuesday evenings at the Underground (not far from train station).
- the fountain, outside Alders

What is Knowhere?
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
Have Your Say...
The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.
You can tell us more about Portsmouth.
This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Portsmouth.
If you are unhappy with any of the content on this page, turn on the flags.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
