Skateboarding Spots
tower blocks near guildhall, theres like a row of clubs n pubs on a higher level, all have stairs n banks, smashing spot
Southsea Skate Park.
The renowned Southsea Skate Park blates is the best place to go, failing that there are places all over Portsmouth where people skate; at the guildhall, near the police station near guildhall walk, at the pyramids and along the seafront.
The Skatepark on Southsea Common is a good option.....
its all about guildhall for street spots
Like you suggested, by the pyramids centre (behind)is a goooood spot.
Additions to Southsea, theres sets of steps, weird benchs and ledges in Old Portsmouth by the castle. Bring a broom to get rid of the sand and grit that litters the place. Some of it is skateable, some isn't so maybe bring wood to put down. Also there are skateable banks at the end of the Eastern Road, under the motorway. Again, maybe need wood to get over cobbles. Tough but rewarding skate.
portsmouth is the best for street skating, loads of sets from 2 to 10. get off at the train station and go towards the town centre, a few flat banks and a set
and if u make ur way to southsea skatepark (which is main) then u cum across loads of sets rails ledges flatbanks an otha random stuff u can skate. yay potatoes
There have been some new parks built in Portsmouth area. There's a new concrete park opposite South Downs college. Nice Mini, quarters and hip. Denmead has a park made of plastic(???) which is a challenge to skate but the layout is quite inventive for a council effort. Cowplain has a big and wide mini and a driveway with big quarters. Most areas can be found along the A3, for Denmead turn off at junction 3 and follow the B2150 (look for signs saying playing fields). Cowplain turn off at junction 2. Happy skating
Route 666. Fawcett Road.

Never forget there's far more to this area than just the famous skatepark at Southsea. Victoria swimming bath banks, the Law courts, St John's College banks, Arcade Hotel, Portsmouth Building Society (Commercial Rd and London Rd), The Cambridge Pub, Sealye Centre, Art College. Polytechnic Banks like a three sided fun box. The list goes on and on. Guildhall square (steps, sometimes waxed; plenty of grind/slide opportunities) Tricorn center (horrible place, lovely to skate) 'the Underground' (off Commercial Road; the little mall by the bowling place. If the 5-0 appear, be nice, and they may let you stay. Diss 'em, and they get larey!!) Also loads of other street stuff, and of course the skate park 01705 825005 (if you like being run into by 5 year olds on 'blades and BMX'ers with bad attitudes (ie most of them!!). From the grave: Hilsea Youth Centre: Opposite Holiday Inn. Rooty 70's park. Not much lip but eminently carveable.
Skateboard Shops
Route One. No place better...
Route One in Parmestan Road sells skate stuff, and next door to Nick's Body Piercing on Albert Road is an independent skate shop called Urban Zoo.
Albert Road?
Route 1. Fit boys work in there :P
Try Bored, or Route One. Route one is easy to find- Palmerston road. Bored is off Albert road, just follow elm grove to the one eyed dog, then turn right. Follow the road along and Bored is on your left. Bored is an indy-run skateshop so if you need to buy, then buy there!!!
Filarinski's in Havant have a pretty lame selection of decks but they can always
order the one you want
Bored Store Skate shop- 97 Elm grove southsea, 01705 426388
Air Cirus in Marmion Road Southsea has a friendly boss with good advice in buying skates. Rinskis of the Cascades sells cool gear.
