Musical Instrument Shops and DJ Gear
Canterbury music in castle st is pretty good.
Socodi Music.
County music (castle street and wincheap industrial), socodi music and
the one outside the city wall is called Music Land. It is indeed one of the best, they have a great range of pedals etc, and will never tell you to turn it down, although some of the customers might. secoddi have always been really nice to me, although most my friends hate them (agree with thh reasons listed above)... county are very helpful, very friendly but have a small range. i'd say music land.
socodi's without a doubt!
soccodis is rubbish. they watch you every second your in there. Yamaha musics much better, they get good stock that you can actually play. us deluxe fenders etc. while soccodis wrap up ibanez rg's and doesnt let you get near them.
Socodi Music on Castle Street is very helpful and friendly - they have a piano where you can try out your music before you buy it.
COunty music in castle street and make music near the roundabout by the bus station
works the book shop.quality line of saxaphones. beautiful
county music and soccodi music.
County music i guess
there the one outside the city wall (i forget what it's called). -go through the subway infront of you as you stand with wilko's on your left, and then turn back on ureslef when you get across the road and carry the road round. i'm sure u'll find it!
Hell, there are SO many of these in Canterbury that you wonder where everybody who buys musical instruments takes them away to play, because Canterbury is so quiet! There are two good shops in Castle Street: one stocks lots of keyboards and printed music, and the other sells stuff more on the guitar side. There's another, bigger, musical instrument shop on Lower Bridge Street (the ring road) just along from the Odeon cinema.
Soccodi's is by far the best here, worth the walk up from County Music Stores!
Crowthers
Socoddi's (it's a bit out of the way but it's worth the extra 20 second walk from County Music)
Several.Socodi music ius probably best for buying guitars and FX pedals.
some half decent shops on Castle Street i think.
Oli's house- 24 nunnery road
Crowthers Woodwind is the best shop of it's kind, Ian Crowther is a loverly guy and can normally give you pretty good deals and advise. Seems to have alll the music you need and can get anything else.
Recording Studios, Rehearsal Rooms, PA Hire
Hidden Track Studio in Deal is fantastic.
Independent Music Productions, Recoring Studio above County Music in Wincheap.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
