Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars

  • lators is chillies, viking club is no longer there but there is a club called mint and also another one called the loft near yates.
  • Dancing in Dorset Every Monday night, at 7:45PM the doors open to the Woodlands Hall, Trades and Labour Club, 485 Ashley Road, Parkstone, Poole allowing this Exciting Modern Latino Jive Experience to Launch into life. From the moment you enter, it soon becomes obvious why this outstanding evening is voted one of the best nights out on the south coast. • oyster quay on poole quay
  • The Viking club (Woody's) has now been sold and turned into flats, what a shame. Lots of people had a good time there if you were one of them add something to this site.
  • there's a clubby/pubby type place near The Lighthouse AKA Poole Arts Centre. It's called Chillis, so anyone who says there are no clubs apart from Lators in Poole is wrong!!!!!
  • There' the Opera House and Elements in Bournemouth but I don't know where they are as I haven't been there because I'm underage and never want to go clubbing anyway. O, and there's a place called The Venue in Tower Park which I think is still there.
  • I have also heard that the Venue is due to re-open. Apparently in November (rings a bell, this time last year). I have also heard that it is going to do live music aswell(?). We can only live in hope eh!
  • Whats happening with the Venue anyone know? One minuite it's open - and a bag of shite - now its closed and I've heard it's going to be open by some people from London.
  • I have heard that the Venue is to be taken over by some London guys who have some great ideas. Remember the good old days? Top DJ's etc. Should be good. Anyone else heard anything?
  • Please update your site on poole the venue is now re-open latours is now chillis dance bar, and the viking club is now woodys but still a shit hole from a poole resident
  • Poole Con club's a very friendly place with cheap drinks.
  • There is a new club called Chillis next to the Arts Centre (soon to be the Light House) - rather cheesy and a bit crap but ok if you have had a few!
  • Well I have heard that the Venue is due to re-open so look out La'hoares ie: Latores.
  • the viking, above the aquarium on the quay, low ceiling though, so shorties are ok here.
  • Only the Viking or Lators, but unless you want a dose from a slappa or you wish to get bottled by some moron.....steer clear. Yates down the High Street has excellent clubby nights with Friday being especially good (hot babes everywhere!!!) - only open 'till 11 though. Go to B'Mouth for a club!
  • There are actually TWO, count em, clubs in Poole, one being the aformentioned Lators (shithole) and the other being the Viking, above the Aquarium on Poole Quay, which sadly is also a shithole.
  • Go to Bournemouth, Lators is now the only club in Poole and it's shit.
  • No decent clubs unless you are a piss pathetic conformist casual dressed in adidas, listen to talentless shite like Oasis and have a penis hairstyle ( basin cut shaped like a human penis).
  • Poole has none worth talking about at all, go to Bournemouth like everybody else
  • Don't go to Lators, its full of dodgy kevs and slappers.
  • Only naff clubs especially the Venue.

Live Music Venues

  • mr Kyps - ashley cross - loadsa tribute bands + locals (www.mrkyps.net) Also many freebie outdoor gigs during the summer @ lower parkstone park & poole park
  • Mr Kips in Parkstone for a really great night out.
  • Mr Kyps is the dogs bollox
  • are max temp and the farenheits still playing, trying to track ex keyboard player phil taylor any ideas people?
  • The Central in Parkstone is good. My brother's band played there so they must be one of the good bands you can occassionally find there.
  • The Venue is due to re-open with a live music night. Could be good
  • Try the Central in Lower Parkstone or The Lord Nelson on the Quay....they're a little rough (especially the Central!) - but occasionally you'll catch a decent band there!
  • Apart from pubs, I recommend MR Smiths in Bournemouth
  • Poole Arts Centre has the occassional good group. The Central in lower Parkstone is the best for live bands in the local area. P.S The best local band at the moment are "Pronghorn".
  • Poole Arts Centre, for the sort of thing you'd expect in an ARTS centre. A Yate's wine lodge has opened up in the High Street, it's is just like a Yate's wine lodge !!
  • try the Central round the corner from the B. Triangle, parkstone, poole on Sat nites for the best selection of local bands. And has a lockin sometimes!
  • Grays is good for live music, but can be slightly rough.
  • Brownsea island supposedly has concerts occasionly.

Cinemas

  • UCI at Tower Park, small cinemas showing all the latest releases, clean but the food and drink is very expensive.
  • UCI at Tower Park.
  • UCI
  • UCI at tower park , a very good cinema for the hard of hearing and regular attendance could possibly make you hard of hearing . Does the sound really have to be that loud ?
  • wessex bowling near tesco in brankesome pk. imax cinama in bournemouth really great fun cool
  • A cinema, a bowling alley and Quasar can all be found at Tower Park. Unfortunately the whole complex is a shithole and must be avoided at all costs
  • UCI is decent, the arts centre shows arty films, they were talking about building a multiplex in the town centre (UCI is at tower park)
  • Tpwer park has everything - 10 screen cinema, bowling, quasar, bingo AND tescos... the venue is shut now.
  • 10 Screen UCI cinema at Tower Park

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Poole. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Poole.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
