- Plan 9 is OK, Forbidden Planet is stupidly overpriced and full of emos telling you what you should and shouldn't buy. The best by far is Asylum in the Adelphi. I have no idea what the previous guy meant by rude, the guy there was hugely helpful, and happy to phone suppliers on the spot when he didn't have what I wanted. I guess if you treat someone with manners, they'll respond with the.

- Plan 9 across from Central Library is the best comic book shop in Aberdeen. I've been going there for about 10 years. Staff are useful and friendly, selection is amazing.
Forbidden Planet on Upperkirkgate is alright too. Comics are more like Marvel and DC (yawn) but the staff are friendly and young, and they used to have this hot girl who worked there but she's not hot anymore.
Then there's Asylum, in Adelphi. Good for collectors but the staff are rude, and usually assholes. Really up there own ass. Like Comic Book Guy, from Simpsons.
- Went into that Forbiden Planet - Awful. The staff were rude and didn't know a lot about comics. The place looks more like a toy shop to be honest.
Plan 9 is ok, but the graphic novel/collections are relly very poor. bad selection.
I don't know what the guy meant by Asylum owner being wierd. He was very pleasant to me when I was in. He dresses very dapper. Bit 'Doctorish' is you know what I mean. Knew his stuff tho.
Re, the wee dog, When I was in, it had women in the shop cooing. I suspect that this gave thier bf's a bit of piece to browse. Shock, girls in a comic shop! You dont see them buying comics in the other two. And no wonder.
There wasn't any shit on the floor when i was in.
Asylum is a bit hard to find, and is 'rough and ready' but the graphic novels are the best selection in Aberdeen. Plan 9 and Foreboding Prices, er Forbidden Planet, only pay lip service.
- I don't know what you mean that the owner of Asylum is wierd, he was extremley helpful and polite when I was there. The dog is cute and the women, YES WOMEN, who were in the shop seemed to love the little critter. Good marketing tool if you ask me.
In contrast to the other two. Plan9 did not order the item I was looking for because 'no one would want it' Also, they didn't seem to care either. And Forbidden Planet, the 'assistant' did not seem to know anything about comics. I asked for Transmetropolitan and he just looked at me before asking, someone else who also didn't know. Th eplace, as someone else points out, has the bells and whistles, but not the brains or heart the other places have. A soulless commercial toyshop masquerading as a comic shop. I'll give 'em six months.
- Asylum IS the best by far!!!!!!!!
- if i'm going for a newspaper or magazine there is only one place... Duncan's in the bridge of don, BEWARE you can't leave without a duncan's pie, they are the best.
- Forbidden Planet have a large selection, Plan 9 are better for back issues and keep alot of older stuff in stock, and the one in the Adelphi generally has a bit of everything for everybody, though the owner is a bit weird, and his little dog runs around the shop shitting on the carpet.
- Forbidden planet for comics, figureines and general cultural cult stuff. Actors from buffy come and sign stuff on occasions. nuff sed
- FORBIDDEN PLANNET!!! Hot guys, good selection. Plan 9 for more marvel style comics and more dimly lit.
- place down the Adelphi in your a complete affecionado for comics....oh and Plan 9 if you really want to see a fat shop assistant sweat
- Forbiden planet cus plan 9 suks
- Hutcheon street 24 hour shop for the best selection fo porn and contact mags!
- Plan 9 - its the pandoras Box
- good old WHSmith not much you can say.
- Plan 9 was a loyal servant for many years, however the new Forbidden Planet on Scchoolhill is all singing, all dancing, and will probably put Plan 9 out of business.
- Best place for comics in aberdeen is "Asylum" just off Union st. They are totally helpful. Plan 9 suckz.
- Plan 9, very stern owner and very dull clientelle. Everything in very "don't even think about it" sealed up celophane
- Menzies is good for a wank.
- Good porno mags from the 24hour shop at the top end of Union Street. (Near Holburn street)
- Plan 9 has a large selection of crappy comics.
- Plan 9 - Saddos can go to this one in Rosemount and get the lastest copy of Xmen v's Thunder Liuzard or whatever this crap is called
- WH Smith, latterly John Menzies, has just about every magazine and comic out, avoiding top shelf stuff. Top shelf magazines are quite rare, but a good selection can be found at the 24 hour shop in Hutcheon Street, even if you are 10 because they are at floor level.
- that book shop in the middle of union street beside HMV.
- There is a very good Comic Shop in Aberdeen called "Plan 9". They've got a big selection.
